Has "ANYONE" won on Carnivals Casinos???

NO ONE consistently wins a lot at any casino on earth. Land, River, or Ocean. If they do, the casino tries to find how the person is cheating. If they find the cheating method, they take back the money and prosecute. If they cannot find evidence of cheating, they bar the person for life. Its only a game to us, its purely a money making business to the casino. THEY aren't playing.

That depends in what jurisdiction the casino is located in. In Nevada they could ban anyone for almost anything. In Atlantic City I have never heard of anyone being banned unless they posed a threat to another player or was creating a disturbance. Some of the other jurisdictions I haven't heard anything about as yet.

What game you play also helps. While at slots the casino controls programming for hits. At table games (Blackjack, Three-card poker, Poker, Roulette, and Craps) the odds are roughly the same no matter where you play. If you learn to play a table game you should do better than at the slot machines. However, nothing is a guantee when it comes to gambling.

Here IS a gambling guarantee. ANY player, anywhere, that is consistently ahead of the casino for any real money, WILL BE Banned. Every game in a casino has odds in favor of the house or that game would not be there. Casinos DO NOT engage in 'games' of chance. A player that always beats the odds is assumed to be cheating. Proof of it and they take back the money, no proof and they just ban the player. The banned player's profile and photos are shared with all casinos in the US, not just AC and LV.

The attraction for all of us is that the odds can be beaten SOMETIMES. So WE can win!!!

But they cannot be honestly beaten all the time.

One of my buddies had a month-long "cooling out" period after going on a $15K run over 12 hours at Caesar's in AC.

I use to play a lot of Roulette on the ships until I bought a computer version of the game. The computer game is very realistic and I have tried every combination of bets and numbers and all I can say is that you can't win in the end. I have concluded that if you want to play for fun, play the odd/even or red/black bet and even then the odds are still against you because of the 0/00 call. Your chances of winning are 42 percent!

I think the best way of betting is to take all the money you would be betting that day and put it on odd/even or red/black. Then let the wheel spin and you either doubled your money or lost what you were prepared to lose any way. But remember, then walk away! That's the hard part.

Just curious, I asked on the Valor if you had to pay taxes on your winnings at sea. I was told, "Yes." I still don't understand why this is. I once won big---$4500---on a day casino cruise in Florida and no one even asked my name.

I had a little bit of luck last Oct. playing the penny slot, "Golden Monkey." It was a riot---lots of fun to play. Got my $20 up to $250!

not me but my friend .... on let it ride :D

I had to deal with a lost key at the pursers desk and when I went into the casino she had this really ODD look on her face, I was like what's the matter (as I took in all the pit bosses counting the deck and so on) she was so nervous biting her nails and shaking her leg ... "I think I just won 2,000" and she did :)

Im guessing you won playing a table game.

Here is the policy with Ocean Players Club

http://www.oceanplayersclub.com/AboutTheClub/FAQ.aspx

Question: If I win do I have to pay any taxes?

Answer: We are required to file an IRS form W-2G for all slot jackpots of $1,200 or more and for all table game jackpots and payouts where the odds are 300 to 1 or higher (e.g. some poker progressives and royal/straight flushes). There is no tax withholding on slot jackpots (unless the winner fails to provide a valid social security number, in which case we withhold at a rate of 29%). All table game payouts subject to tax reporting are also subject to withholding at a rate of 26% (29% if a valid social security number is not provided). These tax guidelines are for citizens and permanent residents of the United States only.

4 years ago I hit $3700 on a machine aboard Victory.:D This past October, aboard Crown princess, my wife hit $1500 on a machine and 2 days later I hit $1000 on the same machine. :D It really does happen, but it's not often. I've stated when we hit, but trust me when I say we lost much more than we ever hit. The slot odds may be a little worse on a ship, but then again I've never done too much in land based casinos. Gambling is just that---Gambling! The only real problem I have with hitting a good amount on a ship is having to report it to the IRS. These ships are not registered in the US, sail in International waters and usually don't even have US citizens working on them. I think it is wrong that the IRS thinks it has a right to force you to claim large winnings just becuse you are a US citizen. I "earned" the money at sea, not in the US. The ship employees "earn" their money at sea, but they don't have to report it to the IRS because they are not citizens. Land based is different because you are in the US when you hit one, but the ship is just plain wrong.

Well, it is what it is and if I don't like it, I shouldn't gamble on board! But I will!!

I won $1700 the first night on a Valor cruise in 2006. Went again in June 2008 (Valor again) and went through most of my gambling money.

On the last night, I figured I'd just play quarters on video poker. Played awhile and hit 4 Aces(800 coins)) Thought, great, now I'm up $200+. Played while longer and hit another 200 coins.

I decided to cash out, and lo and behold, I'd been played DOLLARS, so I was up $1000! I grabbed the money and ran.:)

The first part of your statement is nonsense. It is true that every casino game favors the house. If it didn't then they certainly not be in a casino. Casinos do engage in games of chance. There is no sure 100% way of winning all the time. You take a chance on beating the casino.

Can you name a player in any casino that always wins 100% of the time? Of course you can't because it does not exist. However, there are many players that do beat the odds. And some of them do it on a regular basis.

You have to know the game you play well. Make the best bets that you can as a player. Keep making the best bets. Even if it doesn't pan out in the short term over the long term it should pan out.

In certain jurisdictions they can ban a player. However, in other jurisdictions they normally don't ban a player unless it poses a threat to other players and/or dealers.

There is no mathimatical model that can beat the odds 100% of the time. However, if you make the best bets that you can you just might come out ahead. When you make the best possible bets that means that you are making the least advantageous bet for the house. When you are making the least risky bets then you cutting down the risk of losing big. Do you cut the risk of losing down to zero, of course not. That is why it is called gambling.

Doesn't matter whether you win or earn the money.. you are taxed on your worldwide income. Sure those employees don't pay tax to the USA if they are not citizens but you have no idea what taxes their countries impose on them. If you lose more than you win and you itemize you won't need to worry about paying taxes. Just be sure to keep track of those losses.

According to the trade journals most land based casinos have lowered :mad:the payout on their slots. I do think the casinos on ships are much lower. Anyway it is for fun, and I will find out next week.:confused::confused:

I would like to know, specifically, if anyone has hit a Royal Flush on a Video Poker machine on a Carnival ship. I have hit several quads (four of a kinds) but have never hit, nor seen anyone who has hit, the Royal.

Yes, I saw two royal flushes on the .25 progressive VP machines on the Liberty last week.

Just off of the Destiny on Monday. I only play slots and my "donation" was about $250. Not once was I ever in the position of being up more than maybe $10. It was so dismal! The slots throughout the casino were really tight and no one seemed to be winning anything! I spoke to several people and the sentiment was the same, that the slots were tight with no chance to even win enough to keep playing for any extended period of time. The minute you put your money in it was like a vacuum was turned on and every penny was sucked right out of the machine. Same thing at the tables, players staying on 20 and dealer hitting or drawing 21. Bad week for players....great week for Carnival!!!!! Oh well, we did have fun but have decided that our casino money will be spent on our trips to Vegas instead where the odds are a little better!
