Back in 1999 or 2002, cant remember which, we sailed out of Miami for a 7 day cruise with our SIL and BIL. Last day of the cruise I saw a slot machine that said $25 so I had $100 I did not use in the casino yet (lol, did spend about $400 total though). I figured why not and put in the $100 and got 4 pulls of the wheel. The last one came up 40, I thought cool I won $100. I forgot that quickly that is was $25 x 40 = $1000. We got off the ship next day, rented a car and went shopping until we had to leave on the plane ride home. It was fun. Never won since then though.

If only DH knows when to say when. He would win a few hundred then keeps playing and loose it all. We set a budget in the beginning of our cruise or you can easily loose track on how much you are spending. Carnival wins 99% of the time.

There was a Ballys AC VIP cruise group on the Miracle in May...

A couple 100 people..

In the casino there were two older ladies who were very cute.. One sat at the same slot day in and day out and we watched her hit .. I think it was for about $4000 on a quarter slot..

There was this other lady who sat at the same slot also and if someone was sitting at it, she would pace back and forth nervously until they left..

When she played she would hit the machine on each spin.. and I mean hit the machine.. It was funny and odd all at once... never saw her win though...

T

I wonder if it was the same lady we saw win. She had been sitting there for some time and her points just accumulated then she hit big. I don't remember the amount but it created an audience.

When I leave a machine I have to walk away, I'd never want to see anyone get a penny after I sat there.

Glory 1,000 on the wheel of fortune. Next year on the Liberty, same spot on the wheel of fortune, $1600. (Anyone who doesn't understand this, remember it is Saturday nite and the Coors Lite are flowing.)

A couple of years ago during a family cruise on the Legend, my mom won about $1,000 at the poker machine. She and I were bunking together, but I had gone back to the cabin early and she went off to the casino. A little while later she came in, didn't say a word and then she jumped on her bed and started throwing the money in the air. She looked like an excited, little kid. It was great. She went back the next night and won about $250 more. So, not a lot in the scheme of things, but better than most. And me? Bupkis! ;)

If I may, this thread's premise reminds me of the "Did you get a good upgrade?" threads.

Yes, a few people win big -- or get the upgrade to the Penthouse -- (but not very many). The nice folks who are going to respond here are the lucky "tip of the iceberg" that won. Most of us, pay our dues, make our obligatory donations to the casino, feed the slots, etc.

I think most of us agree the odds are "less generous" onboard any ship than at most "regular" casinos. And that's fine as long as you don't think you're going to win enough to pay for your next ten cruises every time you gamble! :D

Have fun out there! And we'll all keep looking for the luckiest machines and tables. :)

Regardless of where you gamble, its best to look at it as entertainment.

I saw someone asked a similar questions so thought this thread might be helpful.

NO ONE consistently wins a lot at any casino on earth. Land, River, or Ocean. If they do, the casino tries to find how the person is cheating. If they find the cheating method, they take back the money and prosecute. If they cannot find evidence of cheating, they bar the person for life. Its only a game to us, its purely a money making business to the casino. THEY aren't playing.

No where near the money that you are talking about, but on the Conquest last year I won $2000 on the dollar wheel of fortune, then on the Valor last May I won $1000 on the dollar wheel of fortune in a big spin, then on the Glory last September I won $2500 on a quarter flaming 7s machine.

All in all I will have to pay taxes on $4500 since I had to fill out a W2G for any win of more than $1999.

Hey folks! Im interested in hearing anyone that has won BIG in one of Carnivals ships in the Casino??? I dont think Ive ever heard of anyone winning big even though the Capers claims some jackpots are worth $100,000 plus at times. Has anyone won over $10000 ???? Wonder if Carnival rig there slots to their favour. I also wonder WHOM regulate them ????? Thanks Mikil

I don't play, so I guess you could call me a winner:D, but on my last cruise, as I was walking past the slots, the bells went off and a lady right next to me started shoveling coins into a popcorn bucket. She won two buckets full; how much would that be?

On our Vctory cruise DH won the blackjack tournament.$500 dollars

When we sailed on the Fascination for our DD's wedding, I won the slot tournament, and DH walked off the ship with 1500.00 more than he went on with.:D

It does happen, but we have been on lots more where we blew that and more.

Ship casinos are the worst payouts then any other casinos.........

All you have to do is read the payouts on the machines to figure that out......

How do you read the payouts, are they listed on the machine? If so, where?

I truly believe that ship casinos don't pay well but I do love sitting there late at night and playing. From being on 6 curises I have come to the conclusion the slots pay the 1st and last night and are tight inbetween. Except on Celebrity last year - they were so tight I thought they were on welfare!!!!!! thanks
