Free things on board that most don't know about

No, that wouldn't be free, that would be stealing someone's work. I can see why someone would want to do it though because the cruiselines sure charge a premium for the photos. It's still stealing though.;)

MissTori, I believe Iwanna was joking, it was a joke:p

Here's the deal...when people find out about something free they usually crowd/line up for the "deal". In most cases it is not worth the time for a free sample of whatever and time is better spent doing what you really want to do on the cruise. On the recent Glory cruise people were in a long line for a liquor taste which was a very tiny shot of whatever. Killing 15 minutes for a fractional shot is not a good use of time in my opinion.

Remember, if it is free then people will crowd around it and it becomes devalued quickly. The true free things are those that you find that enhances your vacation whether it is time alone on a balcony, exploring the ship or finding your own private/free activity.

I've never seen a fractional shot, they are usually a full sized shot, many times I can't drink the whole thing myself and need my hubby to finish it for me.

How bout the people that push and shove and get rude when they have their inch of gold sale?

The "gold" is actually gold PLATED and you can get it much cheaper at walmart, hellllllllllllllllllllllllooooooooooo lol

Not many first (and 2nd and 3rd) timers know that the Sushi is free. Not every ship has a Sushi bar but if your ship does...it's free. They are only open for a few hours every day so watch your capers.

This is one of my favorite things, and it's usually 5 to 8pm , or at least on the ships I've been on.

Great tip pastorfrank!!!

As to where: both parties will be held in the showroom lounge where the main entertainment shows are held every night. I haven't looked at your ship's layout, but I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out if you look at a deck plan.

This is not necessarily true. On the Valor, the past guest party was in the showroom, but the captain's gala was in the myriad aft bars. Whatever the answer is for your particular cruise, the information will be available in the capers and probably elsewhere, too.

I see some people asking what IS NOT included with the cruise fare, but it makes me wonder about the things that are free that I may not know about. I've only been on one cruise so far, and my next is coming up in April.

So far, I've discovered you can get FREE

Lanyard at the casino

champagne at the art auction

cappucino in the dining room (at breakfast too or just dinner?)

What else is free that isn't commonly known?

Thanks! :)

If you go to the art auctions (a major scam) you will get free champagne, fruit and a print if you stay until the end. However, Carnival is now giving you the same print for free if you order a specific bottle of wine each night at dinner.

I always thought there was a charge for the sushi bar we passed on our way to the back of the ship. What a great tip. I would have stopped and sampled a couple had I known this!!! Is this true on all the ships? I am going on Valor March 22nd?

There is free soft serve ice cream 24 hr a day, but on sea days (usually for a couple of hours in the afternoon) they also have free hard ice cream and all the fixings for making sundaes!

They are the BEST SUNDAES!!! We love sea days!

free liquor tasting usually the first night, on the paradise the free shots were flowing quickly, but on the triumph, it was so slow, and you had to stand in line and i didnt have the patience for that.

We were on the Valor this past November and the Sushi was free. Like someone else said, check the capers for hours

I understand that there will be a 24 hour free sushi bar on the Conquest when she comes out of dry dock. No Grand Midnight Buffet, but 24 hour sushi.

I got a free butt massage from a drunk lady who mistook me for her husband one night.....at least that was what she mumbled.

I thought it was funny, and so did my wife.

OMG!!! That is hilarious!!!! I'm glad you & your wife got a laugh out of it!!!:D

Most everything is included in the price of your cruise, however they do offer a few things you need to pay extra for if you choose to do so....

I have found that if you have to look and/or ask for it, it is usually free, but if it is prominently displayed or an employee offers it, you will pay.

I think I shall put this on a card in a large font to remind myself should I forget. This is truth.

The reason my wife got a kick out of it was the lady was black and so was her husband, we did have suits on that looked similar, but I'm a Florida white boy....got a good tan, so maybe that was the reason.

I was looking forward to seeing her get drunk again the next night....she sure was beautiful.

If this is true, I will be a sushi-eating machine!! I'm salivating over the idea of 24-hour sushi.

Haha, that is so funny. I wouldn't mind getting this type of free massage either:D

I suppose it won't be too funny if it was a dunken man mistaking a wrong wife, could start a fight.

So did you go wearing the same outfit every night, haha?
