Transportation from Gatwick to pier

Has anyone else ever used Marathon Taxis to get from Gatwick to Southhampton? They were recommended by another web site and the price is reasonable - 150 pounds for our party of five. Let me know any pros and cons please. Thanks.

That's extortion. What we did was hire a van from Alamo and dropped it off in Southampton. Worked out way cheaper than a taxi. FYI we were quoted cheaper than that from North London..... a single rail ticket is currently less than £20.

Hi we live 13 miles from Southampton and I would say that £150 is far too expensive, you should be looking at half that amount. Maybe you can look at booking a Southampton based company to pick you up from Gatwick.

We are being charged £140 from Northampton... and thats over twice the distance!

Friends of ours live in S'ton, and pay less than £100 for a limo to gatwick. £150 seems very expensive

Agree - far too much - we paid £100 from Southampton to LHR and that is further. I'd look for another company.

And here I was thinking I was getting a deal - I was told RCI was 100 per person so I thought 150 for a party of five was good. Thanks, I'll look around. Considered the train but decided door to door would be better for our group.

Take the train, wonderfully relaxing, and probably something you don't do at home. The seats are big and comfy, Gatwick -> Southampton trains leave once an hour, and take just shy of 2 hours. It's about 20pounds/ea.

 

Gatwick train station is an elevator ride down from the south terminal at Gatwick, and Southampton Central Station is within sight (3/4 mile) from the major cruise terminals.
