I would take the cruise in a heart beat also.

Ideally, it would be a port included in the East To West full transit of the Panama Canal on my bucket list. That would be awesome.

I would want to do it early so that we could enjoy it before it becomes too changed by American tourism.

No I wouldn't go myself and I will NOT book anyone on any kind of trip to communist Cuba. I don't support communism in any way, shape, or form.

Hmmm...Do you buy any goods from China or goods made with parts from China? It's pretty hard to find anything that isn't touched by Chinese trade in some way or other since they are a huge trade partner of the US.

In light of the recent news that travel to Cuba has the potential to open up for U.S. citizens after a 47-year ban, we're wondering if you would consider taking a cruise that calls in Cuba? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.

I would consider it just to see what communism has done to this once lovely island and because I believe the people of cuba are good people caught in a lousy political system. However, it must include other ports as well.

I'm hoping to be one of the first to book a cruise that includes Havana. . (Of course the rest of the itinerary will also be a deciding factor).

Each & every time I've past Cuba enroute to the Carib I've always wished that some day we'd be able to veer to the right and make a stop in Cuba.

I was very excited to see the CNN news about Mr. Obama talking to Cuba about lifting the embargo.

I have a friend in Toronto, Ontario, Canada who's been to Cuba recently and she said the beaches were SPECTACULAR, and said she felt "safe" in Havana & enjoyed the shopping, cafe's nighlife, etc.

Now having been to all the caribbean islands ( some several times), I very much look forward to exploring a new port of call.

Opening up Cuba is one of the best idea's in 50 years. My husband and I would like to search for his family. His mother left Cuba before he was born and he was able to visit only once when he was 5. He knows there is family there and would really like to find them. I would love the opportunity to vist and explore this island country. Taking a cruise there for the first time would be exciting, giving us the time to see if we wanted to return for an extended stay.

I'd want to dive there on a week long trip. A cruise with only one or two stops wouldn't allow enough diving. That, and the better diving isn't close to where the ships are likely to stop.

On the other hand, I'd be more likely to take a cruise that stops in Cuba than one that stops in Jamaica. I won't take a cruise that stops there.

This is the best example of slavery in this century. This is an excellent example of what Communists call "exploitation of men by men".

I refuse to support any Socialist or Communist government that takes away from their people all freedoms as well as not providing for the most basic human needs of food and proper/safe healthcare. I will not financially support a country where Human Rights are violated every minute of the day.

This brought tears to my eyes. Those of us living in freedom have no comprehension of what it's like to not live in freedom. We brush it off as "just another system" not knowing of what we speak.

Absolutely yes, but after embargo... Then, with the right infrastructure it would be a great destination, considering Cuba is by far the biggest island in the Caribbean. I have been there and there are several worth a visit ports / cities.

Yes, I would definately go. I am so tired of vacationeers from Europe and Canada telling me what great beaches and bargains there are in Cuba. As an American, I resent the fact that I am not able to travel freely. The Cuban people might have choosen freedom earlier if the U.S. had not stubbornly kept the same policy for almost 50 years!

For Duck Duck Cruise, While I understand and appreciate what you're saying, it would still be about supporting a communist gov't, which I won't do. I try not to buy anything made in China but as you said, there are some things you just can't get around. Regarding travel to China or Cuba? No, I won't go to either place and I won't book anyone there. JMO. Have a great day.

I too would like to go before the construction of all the chain businesses... I have no interest in traveling in an American bubble though sadly there are many who do, leading to the promotion of McDonalds, Best Western and all the US businesses that have to stake a claim in every foreign location.

As far as waiting for Cuba to become a democracy, I wonder how many members saying this have no problem visiting the pyramids in Egypt?

I would love to check out Cuba, my wife agrees....but we would definitley need to see what other ports were offered, if they were halfway descent (and didn't only consist of the Bahamas, and Grand Cayman) We would go in a New York minute!

Egypt is a Republic, the same form of government as the U.S.
