Bobbi0126 Posted April 19, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Hi there! I'm sailing on the Pride for Halloween in an aft balcony cabin (6260). Can you describe for me what you can see of the aft cabins? How private are the balconies? If you have wandered to that end of the ship, what is the noice/vibration like while you are under way? Any other observations? Also, what are the internet charges using your wireless connection? Thanks, in advance, for the info! vette Posted April 19, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 19, 2004 Hi Mojavemommy, How's the weather treating you guys? Could you check the library and see if the Pride Cruise Critic logbook is safe and sound. It is a spiral notebook, bright blue with a big red heart on it. If you find it, make sure you sign it, okay? I have a friend on the ship right now. His name is Scott and his wife is Melissa. If you see a corvette shirt, ask him if his name is Scott. Have a great cruise!!!! mohavemommy Posted April 20, 2004 Author #13 Share Posted April 20, 2004 Yes, they had water available for purchse. They even had churros. I have noticed more vibration towards the aft section of the ship. Internet charges for wireless are: Plan 1 - 250 minutes for $100 (.40 min) Plan 2 - 100 minutes for $$55 (.55 min) Plan 3 - 33 min for $25.00 (.75 min) I had little difficulty hooking up wireless. Service is only available in the immediate area of the internet cafe. Have not found the log yet, but will keep looking for it. Any more questions???? mohavemommy Posted April 21, 2004 Author #16 Share Posted April 21, 2004 The first couple of days out we had some rough seas, but not really bad. It was also somewhat cloudy. Yesterday was much calmer. I will state again that the aft section of the ship has more vibration, in the dining room (deck 2)as well as in Mermaids(deck 9). I did get the log book, but had to ask the librarian for it as it is locked up in their desk. It is not visible on the shelves. He knew what I was talking about. The book is locked up in the desk that is to your immediate right when you enter the library from the area of the Via Veneto (or the chapel too). It is in the middle to drawer (locked). Any more questions before I go into Puerto Vallara????? kajsb Posted April 21, 2004 #17 Share Posted April 21, 2004 Thanks for the live updates mojavemommy. I have 39 days until my cruise on the Pride. I'm glad to hear that the log book is locked up. This will save time searching. How bad is the vibration or is it just noticeable rather than being "bad"? We have aft 4227 on our cruise. Enjoy and keep up the reports, pleas! HeidiHo Posted April 21, 2004 #18 Share Posted April 21, 2004 Bobbi0126 - we were in cabin 6258 right next door to 6260 on the Pride. Didn't get to see 6260 but I can tell you that the vibration was not bad back there. Sometimes we felt a slight one that never bothered us. One night in the dining room it was bad though so I think it's worse on lower decks. As for noise, didn't notice any. I didn't notice any engine noise and there will be very little people noise since that is at the back of the ship and the only traffic will be the people in cabins back there. mohavemommy Posted April 22, 2004 Author #21 Share Posted April 22, 2004 Well all you fellow sea lovers ….. we made it thru one more cruise day. Today we did Randi’s Happy Horses in Mazatlan. It was WONDERFUL. I have back problems and wasn’t sure about doing the tour, but she matched me up with a very gentle, but TALL, horse that was fine. Got to meet c&k today riding. They are a very nice couple. Now to your questions……. The vibration in the aft is just more than forward. It is anough to make the ice clink in the glasses at dinner. Davids dress code for men... jacket required... how is it.... haven't tried it. Chris.... internet hot spot is only within maybe 20 feet of internet cafe. No other hot spots installed yet, and they said due to heavier wall shielding, they don't expect to... AND... what happened to your Dec. Spirit cruise??? Do I need to bring you back info from the Nov one I have booked??? Hope I got it all....... Already have all of the Camp Carnival papers for all age groups that I will be posing on webshots when we're back. ..... anything else??? Rare Teeara Posted April 23, 2004 #24 Share Posted April 23, 2004 Hey there, girl, glad to see you are FINALLY on board the Pride!!! I hope you are enjoying her as much as I did last September. How is Randy doing? Since today is Friday I know you are in Cabo. Hope you have a great day there. For those asking about David's, the food was really good. You can only order one item from each category, however, instead of multiples like you can in the main dining room. Was it worth the extra price? My group of four thought so. It was much more intimate (especially if you go early in the evening and in the week) than the main dining room. Also, it was very easy to make reservations. When you first board the ship you can either go to your room and call up there from your room and make your reservations or go directly up to David's itself and they will have a table set up with the menu out for review and some people to take your reservations right then and there. My recommendation is to make your reservation as early as possible after you board the ship. That way you will have more time selections to choose from. Decide before you even board the ship when you want to dine there and then just call or visit. It's that simple. And the day you are going to dine there they will leave a nice card in your stateroom reminding you of your reservation. Another nice souvenir from your cruise!
