As soon as you put your S&S in the machine, you have joined. Nothing else required.

This I know, I guess what I meant was the like VIP player club. My mom was on one cruise and played a lot and she now gets all these special offers by being in the VIP Players club.

Look at it again...I get the offers from the casino and they ask for my VIFP Club number

Right, the VIFP # is on the offer but it comes from the Casino, well, at least ours did. We have received them numerous times but were just able to take advantage of it.

My DH is the gambler so I'm not sure of how much you have to play or lose or win. :D

Yes this is exactly it!! My mom played quite a bit and now she gets all these offers in the mail. Usually something like 75 off a sailing and 75 casino credit. In the last 3 months she got 2 free cabin offers. She is going with my dad in May. Nothing in the other one. I wanted to find out how much you need to spend or how long maybe you need to play.. never on my 5 cruises have I been able to do this :(

No, it's the VIP Casino Players Club. This is where the "free cruise" offers came from.

Yes, I know it comes from the casino. It is the VIFP Club offer through the casino not a Casino VIP club

I was told there is no rhyme or reason to who gets the offers and who doesn't. We booked our next cruise with my casino offer. DH and I have only been one 1 Carnival Cruise and that was 3 years ago. DH won more, and then for spent more in the casino, BUT I got the Casino rate. He did not. I asked when I booked and was told there is no rhyme or reason to it. And from my experience I believe it.

I spend about $1000 a week in the casino and unless I win a large jackpot I gamble back in almost all the credits I win. I cruise 3 or 4 times a year.

I usually end up with about 5000 points. I get the Premier Casino Cruse offers usually and went on one. I've never received the free cruise offer. I always contact the Players Club before I sail and usually have $50 to $100 casino cash waiting on me.

My last cruise I got $75 casino cash and the On Us card because I had gone over the 5000 point mark on my previous cruise.

is there somewhere I can see my points? I cant recall how much has been spent in the casino

You can ask for a win/loss statement, but you can't see your actual points. The casino rep at the players club and see your level of play on your previous cruise and that's what you next comp will be based on.

I can't remember exactly what I spent, but I went on a cruise with Carnival almost four years ago and gambled a lot. I'd say I probably dropped about $1k over a five night cruise.

I'm not sure when they sent the first email, because I usually don't look at them. But, a few weeks ago, I received one that said "You have been selected for a premiere experience." When I opened it, it said nothing about a free cruise, but it listed sailings that were super discounted and included a $400 casino cash credit.

When I went to the carnival web site to look into a few other cruises and compare pricing, I noticed that some of them said "starting at $0 per person." I assumed it was a glitch. But no, I could go on almost any cruise for free, (taxes and port charges not included), when I plugged my VIFP number in. So, if you are VIFP, it's worth it to just plug your number in and see what kinds of deals come up. These were interior cabins, but even other cabins were very discounted.

Now, I'm taking my Mom, daughter and a friend on an 8 night cruise in June using this offer. I didn't do the interior, but got a grand suite for a HUGE discount.

Hope that helps!

How can I join the players club? Does it have a cost to be in the players club?

Q. Do I need to join a Players Club?

A. No, simply insert your cruise card into any machine. After setting up your Player Bank, a profile will be automatically created for you. That’s all it takes. If you are a table player, simply present your cruise card to the Pit Boss while playing or ask our Casino Manager/Host for further details.

How much money spent = a point?

You must insert your cruise card into the machine’s card reader during play in order to earn points. One point is awarded for every $2.50 of coin-in on regular slots, and one point for every $5.00 of coin-in on video poker games.

Q. I’m a table player, how do I get rated to earn comps?

A. A table player can be rated when playing at most table games. Just let the Dealer know that you wish to be rated every time you play. You will earn comps based upon your average bet and time played. Play 4 hours of play per day, at an average bet of $20, for your table play to be rated.

Please remember that it is only coin-in on slots and video poker that matter. You can be winning or losing or breaking even. For every $2.50 you bet on a slot or $5 on video poker you will receive one point. If you are playing with your money or your winnings from the machine it doesn't matter.

As for table games, it's a little dicey because it brings in the human element. You are issued comps off of your average bet * time played * the house's theoretical edge * whatever percent they comp back. The human element comes in because the floor supervisors have a bit of leeway on how much they rate your average bet. I suggest being friendly with them and to not be one of those players who starts complaining after they get a six on their first card or blame the dealer for everything going wrong with the world today. Also, a few toke bets will do wonders for your average bet rating(trust me on this one).

On my Sept. Triumph cruise they advertised that if you earn 2000 slot points you'll get a free drink card. I hit that on day 2 and took my card to the casino cage where they gave me the drink card.

On the Magic the casino manager just stopped by the machine I was on and added the drink card to my sign & sail card on day 2 again. My Brother is a table player who spends just as much time in the casino as I and is usually an above average better. He didn't receive his drink card until the last day of the 7 day cruise. He did complain to the staff about me receiving a card while he hadn't. I think they punished him for complaining

On our cruise in May of this year the Carnival Player's Club sent him a free cabin offer but I only received a $200 cabin discount and $100 casino cash. The free cabin offer is random. They plug several factors into their computers and the different offers come out. This year I assume a couple of the factors that worked in my Brother's favor were as follows. This is only my guess from many years gambling in many casinos.

We're most likely rated about the same but I've booked a Carnival cruise every year for the past 3 years. My Brother didn't sail last year so one factor in his favor was to bring him back to Carnival's casino.

Another factor may have been that myself & DW plus my DD & DSIL were already booked for 2014 on a Player's Club offer while he was still thinking about it. Since our bookings have been linked to my Brother in the past Carnival's computers may have taken that into consideration.

I'm sure there are many other factors but we'd have to find an ex-Player's Club employee willing to spill the beans. The point is that there are so many factors it appears to be random.
