So what would you like to know?? I'll try a few things..Your room key will give you access

to the Grills deck wearas others need to get off below the Grills. You can venture off menu if something is not to your taste. Some orders may take a day to prepare, however. Caviar is free in Queens Grill (sorry, no longer the really "good" stuff, but still not bad)or as Canapes delivered to your room(you may have to be somewhat frank with the butler,as some are more willing than others). You will have a fully stocked complimentary bar with your choice of spirits & softdrinks. There may not always be your favorite choice, if say.. you like an extremely expensive type of alchohol. You'll get priority boarding & a reserved space for Grills pax only on the Grills terrace. If the weather is nice DO take in a lunch/dinner on the courtyard, located between the Princess & Queens Grill restaurants. I hope I helped a bit.

Hope that you get Jackie as a butler. Great one to have.

Use your butler as a resource for items you don't know about on the ship.

The bar in the Queens Grill Lounge always has a very attentive staff and if you mention your favorite drink or Tea they will always bring it to you as you sit down. Tea service is grand in the Queens Grill lounge. Go to it. Have your butler make your reservations for a box for the show. And remember to go there early at least 1/2 hour before the show, the service starts before the show for the box patrons. The Maitre D in the grills dining room will order you anything you like for dinner if you pre plan it. And any dessert also. Eating food from any of the other areas to eat at (except the pub) are not as good as the Queens Grill Dining room (in my opinion).

If you have good weather or not you can have dinner from the menu in the dining room served by your butler in your room or on the balcony (good weather permitting).

Looks like two of us posted at the same time. Apologies for the dupication. Sorry to say, there are no boxes in the Royal Court Theatre on QM2, only QE and QV. If your traveling on QV or QE in Grills accomodation, the Grills concierge located in the Queens Grill Lounge can make a reservation for a box on one of the days reservations are taken. A reserved box is an extra cost, but worth it as you will be served good champage and dessert finger foods in a area near the box and taken to your box where another bottle of champage awaits. Other wise on QE and QV the boxes are first come first served. It would be nice if this were availabel on QM2 but as there are no boxes, well perhaps in a future retrofit.

Thanks everyone,am I right in thinking that only two of the B lifts go up as far as deck 11 and those two lifts are furthest away from the stairs...

Yes, but the other two go up to deck 10 so as long as you have no stair problem, it's no bother to walk across the lift lobby and up the stairs to the Grills lobby.

Another daft question sorry, is afternoon tea served in the grills lounge?if so,is there enough room for all of QG and PG if we all show up at the same time?

Last question I promise.

I have just read a thread saying on QM2 for grills passengers lunch is served from 1300 to approx 1430 on embarkation day would these times be roughly the same on QV.

Thank you.

Afternoon tea is served in the Queens Grill Lounge on QM2. Probably the same on the other Queens. No, all the Grills passengers can't fit into the QGL at the same time, but it is unlikely to the point of impossibility that all would choose to take tea on any given day let alone decide to show up at exactly the same time.

Definitely not enough room in the lounge for all Grills passengers on QV to take afternoon tea at the same time but as not many passengers stay for the duration and there is occasionally an overflow into the PG restaurant apparently, you will find a seat eventually. You can have afternoon tea served to you on the Grills sundeck too but the tea will come in a mug with a teabag instead of traditional individual pot of tea [specialty] and milk jug etc.

Embarkation lunch time is as you describe.

Not only can you get tea, sandwiches, scones, and the like at the Grills deck, they deliver ice cream during the afternoon as well! And there's sun block and ice water at the entrance. Probably not for a crossing, but for good weather, that is a real jewel. It's quiet and very pleasant. I normally don't sit out in the sun, but I was happily surprised when I joined my husband one day. You could really gain weight from using the deck.

The canapes delivered to the room nightly aren't great. I think there's extra things the butler can bring if you ask him what else is available. I opted for wine rather than liquor, and he always left an extra unopened bottle at the bar.

The concierge in the grills lounge will book restaurant and excursion reservations for you.

Just so you know, you will really miss it if you go back to regular cabins.

  • 2 months later...

If memory serves its $50 per head which includes champagne and nibbles, remember the box is only reservable on certain nights of the voyage any other time its first come first served including lectures etc,my partner and I availed ourselves of a box for one of the lectures it was ok but nothing more than that (made for a great getaway afterwards)I can imagine it being better with the reserved package etc all dressed up with drinks and nibbles.

Is it $50 per on the non-reservable nights also?

before the show you are escorted into a side Room area for drinks then taken to your reserved box and served more drinks, some people will tell you that the view from the boxes isn't great but for a sense of occasion it's great go for it..

We really like sitting in the boxes whenever possible - there is more room and it's less of a nuisance if I have to pop to the ladies, as I sometimes do

Booking a box for a production show is a great sense of occasion, but we avoid dinner before all those sweet treats, I find them almost too much to manage.
