Grandeur 12 nt Holiday Sailing : Demographics? Hoping for young adults

Recommended Posts

We have been on three holiday sailings, on Celebrity Infinity, Navigator and Regal Princess. Wondering what sort of crowd we can expect on this ship. We really enjoy dance classes, games, crafts, disco parties, etc. but since this is a pretty small ship, I hope we won't get shortchanged! Any thoughts about our fellow passengers. The Roll Call is very small so far.

I would predict an older crowd but Grandeur is a great ship with a great crew so you should have a great time if you don't worry so much about who else on board. Just chill out and enjoy and make your own great time.

There are few families on these long cruises as the kids would miss too much school. This is are favorite time to cruise on the Grandeur and the passengers are mainly retirees. You will enjoy this cruise as the ship's crew is wonderful.

I agree. Make your fun. Crown Viking Lounge is great at night, go have drinks in the casino, South Pacific Lounge for Kareoke. During the day, make your own party at the aft of the promenade deck (5?), trivia in the Schnooner Bar, grab beverages at the pool bar and take them to deck 11 observatory.

We are going the following year for xmas and New year on Grandeur ots 22nd dec to jan 3rd. We are a family/group of 8 with 2 teens in tow, they are out of school most of that time with the exception of the 2nd and 3d of Jan 2019. So there may be more children that you think.:D also Australia is in summer..... ;). looking at you tube I saw quite a few children....

December 21 - January 2 - there will be lots of families and not just "old people" and "retirees". This very much overlaps with winter vacations for schools and colleges.

In the school district where I live, parents would "only" be pulling their kids out of two days of school. Many families consider that a trifle. (Something that I would never do, but many others would)

  • 2 weeks later...

We are a family of 5 going. Hubby and I (mid 40's), his Dad (mid 70's) and my 2 boys (19 & 20). We (hubby and I) had a wonderful time on the Holland America Christmas Cruise last year so are hoping for more of the same! Lot's of families so there were a great variety of ages and we ended up hooking up with a group of people our age to run to the shows with and hang out at the pool with. The ship was small enough to hook up with the same groups easily, yet plenty of time for family chill.
