Southern Caribbean

I am looking for advice on Southern Caribbean cruises particularly around Christmas anywhere from 7 to 12 days long. We have done Eastern & Western Caribbean already so we prefer itinerary that doesn't include St Thomas or St Martin. We were hoping to do the cruise around Christmas with our 2 four year olds. We would like something fun but affordable. Any advice you have would be appreciated!

Take a look at some trvel agent web sites where you can enter your search parameters and look at all cruise lines. If you select the departure port of Port Everglades and Miami, you will see some 10-12 day cruises to the Southern Caribbean.

Go to http://www.cruisetimetables.com. Choose your departure port, and then your dates. It will show you who is sailing, and their itineraries. EM

We did a 9nts this february going from Miami to Labadee, Aruba, Bonaire & Curacao. With Royal Caribbean.

The Royal Princess has a 10-day southern Caribbean cruise that begins Dec. 10. It goes to the Dominican Republic, St. Thomas, Dominique, Grenada, Bonaire, and Curacao. I know you said you'd like an itinerary without St. Thomas. You can always skip going off the ship and treat it like another day at sea if you'd like. We've done that many times on cruises where we were in ports that we'd been to before. It's very relaxing and uncrowded.

If you choose a cruise that includes Christmas, it will be a lot more expensive.

There are several options.

My suggestion would be to get a TA who specializes in cruising to help you with this.

Around Christmas and New Years, as long as it is the week or two before and after, will be relatively affordably priced. A cruise those Holidays that will include them will be at premium pricing. We also did the RCI 9-night Labadee and ABC's as another mentioned and it was a very good itinerary. There are others as well so agree we checking with a TA for options.

A travel agent who specializes in cruises would be a great help to you in finding exactly what you want. :)
