I will be taking my 24th Carnival cruise in a couple months, so it won't be long and I'll be doing my 25th Carnival cruise. I'd like to hear from RECENT Milestone cruisers what the latest is on Milestone cruises. What should I expect to happen? I'm wondering if anything has changed with the program since Carnival is changing so many other things.

TIA!

I am on my 27th cruise and just past 25 a few months ago. For you 25th, you are given a white card that says 25 milestone in the corner. That is all, there is nothing else on the cruise itself. You will get a letter telling you can use 25% off a cruise fare for ANY one cruise from you 25-49th cruise. You pick. It is 25% of YOUR fare only calculated 48 hours before sailing based on what the fare actually is (after any discounts or price drops)

So if you are paying $1000 for your room BEFORE taxes and fees, 25% of that is returned to you in OBC $250 for a $1000 fare.

If you have over 200 days at sea, you will continue to receive a white card and you are diamond. If you do NOT have 200 days at sea, you are still platinum and will get a platinum card until you make 200 days which at that time you will be diamond.

It is the same for the 50, 75 and 100 milestones. There is usually no mention of it especially now that there are so many diamonds coming up - they get the real perks. Platinum does not mean anything anymore really.

For the most part, no one notices milestone cruises, there is no special ceremony or recognition.

Everything as stated above is correct. I just want to add, that when I got my letter, there was a time limit, (2 years), that you had to take your Milestone cruise. Since it's been several years since I took my Milestone cruise, is the time limit still in place?

If Carnival doesn't send you your letter, you will need to call them. My milestone cruise was November 17th on the Legend. I did not receive my letter and did not receive my 25% credit or white card. I called Carnival and asked to use my credit on my December 7 cruise on the Dream. I was told I would receive on board credit. That didn't happen either. It took 6 phone calls to 9 different people for me to receive my 25% credit on my April 5 cruise on the Dream. I never got my white card. Oh well...... I'd change lines, but I do like Carnival ships and feel their prices are the best of all lines. I have 31 days until Diamond. I'm hoping they won't change that level before I get there.

The letter has a 2 year limit but I have been told by several people that it is flexible, and you don't lose it.

The only set in stone requirement is that you use it before your 50th milestone.

If you are a couple, you can each use the benefit on a cruise, or you can double dip and both use it on one expensive one.

Thanks! So if I can use it on the 25th thru 49th, then the offer actually comes after the 24th cruise? How did you learn about the offer? Did Carnival notify you?

Thanks, Jamman! Did you receive the letter after your 24th or 25th? I also wonder if the discount would apply to the higher solo fare?

BTW, I enjoy your reviews. :-)

You should get a letter after you complete your 24th cruise, but as stated above, I know some people who never got the letter, and had to call. I actually didn't use it until my 28th cruise, since I wanted the biggest bang for my buck, and used it on a more expensive cruise!!

You get 25% of whatever your fare is, (cruise only),two days prior to sailing. You won't see your OBC before then.

Thanks for reading!!

Jeff gave us some insight. We had not received it after our 24th and based on his info we called. No problem.

My boyfriend got the letter before his 25th cruise. I didn't. I emailed Carnival and did receive an email acknowledging that I want to use my Milestone 25% on my Panama Canal cruise. Yep. I have that email printed and it is with my cruise docs for that cruise.

On the Dream cruise on 3-29-14 we boarded right behind a guy that was on his 101st cruise. They made everyone stop and escorted him the entire way. Of course he got recognized at the VIFP party too.

In the example you gave, you said if your room is $1000. So is the 25% for the entire cabin fare or only for the person applying their 25%.

For example if your fare is $1000 and your partner's is $1000 making the total cabin fare $2000, do you get 25% of $1000 or 25% of $2000?

Just the milestone cruiser gets the discount. I suppose if there were two milestone cruisers, you'd both get 25%.

I received my milestone letter in late January after my 24th cruise last November. It was addressed by hand. I have 18 months from the date of the letter to use it. Using it for Hawaii in October.

On my 25th cruise I got the white card. Back to the platinum card for the 26th, lol.

Neither of us received a milestone letter after our 25th or 50th cruise. We did apply both 25% off OBCs to the same Mediterranean cruise on the Magic in 2011 without a problem, it was cruise #31. We received Milestone #50 cards on our 50th cruise. A couple of crew members said wow when they saw it and we were recognized at the gold, platinum, diamond party, but only because we had the most Carnival days sailed.

We asked for and received one 50% OBC on the Legend northern TA last October, cruise #51. We have requested the other credit be applied to Legend Transpacific in August, cruise #61 and based on previous experience expect no problems.

I had an additional glitch.

I got my letter after my 24th and called Carnival to get my OBC on my already booked 25th cruise. When I got to check in I was given a regular Platinum card and when I got on the ship I went to GS with my letter and they said they would look into it.......and to come back later in the evening.

When I went back I also inquired about my OBC.......told again to come back the next day and I walked away with a Platinum card.

Went back the next day and they gave me the White card, but said because I had booked through a TA, that the TA would have had to call to have the discount applied, so I would have to use the discount on a future cruise.

I was not happy with that but accepted it. I did get my OBC on my 26th cruise. As for my actual milestone cruise there was absolutely no acknowledgement of my white card, not one person ever commented on it. And white cards weren't all that common back then.

Now that we're Diamond, the White card still has little or no acknowledgement from the staff. It wasn't uncommon in the past for bartenders to notice your Platinum card and talk to you about your cruising history, but now....nobody seems to care or appreciate your ongoing loyalty to Carnival.

My 25th cruise was February 1, 2014 and I still haven't gotten a letter from Carnival offering/telling me anything.. But since my next cruise is only a Friday - Monday, I don't want to use the credit now anyways so not in a hurry to get it..

And I did get the white card, went to Guest Services and begged them to give me back my Platinum card... I hated the white card, noone acknowledged it, I didnt feel any more special than anyone else and just felt out of the place with it.. Happy being Platinum for now...

If/when I decide to call for the letter, can someone tell me exactly who I call? Thanks

We went on our 25th cruise in Aug. and received our Milestone letter in Sept. and on the bottom of the letter in small print it states that Milestone reward expires 18 months from the date stated on the letter. So I guess they have changed for the 2 yrs.
