we arrive Sydney on 2/12 on SB and the ship overnights at white bay. my ? is when we disembark on the 13th for our hotel in the Rocks area, what time makes sense for the bridge climb? Our guess is 3pm. Cab to hotel , dump the bags as room likely not ready walk the Rocks market then get ready to climb? does that work?

It sounds like you arrive by ship in Sydney?

If so, that plan would work fine. The trip from White Bay to the Rocks takes under half an hour, so you'd be well able to reach there in that time. Everything you've proposed is easily achievable.

We arrive White bay on cruise ship Jan 14th.

Disembark following day.

Are there any ferries that will take us from White Bay to Circular quay area

Also what is best bet to transfer to Domestic Terminal after disembarking?

Thanks

Captain Cook cruises are commencing a ferry service that is just waiting on Governmental approval to start operations. There is a thread on this.

You can transfer by coach or take a taxi. Peak hour is horrendous in Sydney so a taxi could be expensive until after 9.30

No gov't approval yet for Captain Cook ferry service to Central.

We have located a shuttle service from Sydney Domestic airport to a central hotel and a transfer to White Bay the following day. http://www.sydneycityshuttle.com.au/index.asp Sydney City Shuttle. They advertise $15 PP one way transfers - awaiting confirmation re same price to White Bay.

I just looked more closely at connections and timetables they have published.

This may be useful for embarking/disembarking passengers but not very useful for generally transport for anyone having this as a port stop. Which is cruises staying overnight or someone doing a back to back cruise.

As our cruise doesn't get in till 11am think we are better of going with our original plan. This is too get a taxi to Balmain East and use our Opal card to catch a ferry from there.

A question, do you think we will have any trouble getting a taxi to take us to Balmain East?

We disembarked at White Bay this past Feb (Sun Princess).

Embarkation was fine. Disembarkation was a complete mess. We were in line for an hour just to get a cab. Completely disorganized. IF time is tight, arrange a private transfer. The laddies managing the cab line up did not have a clue. It was something out of the keystone cops.
