Embarking in Baltimore

We just booked the Pride out of Baltimore. So excited. We've never sailed from here so we were just wondering what to expect. It seems a little strange the way you pay for parking drop your bags then park. How do you like sailing from here?

It says embarkation starts at 12. We have FTTF when should we arrive if we decide to park at the port?

What hotels do you suggest that have Park and Cruise? This would probably save us money!

Anything we should know?

Thanks for your help!!

We sailed out of Baltimore back in May and it was probably the easiest embarkation we have ever experienced! Parking is right next to the terminal. A really short walk. The check-in didn't take 30-minutes and we were allowed to board immediately. Great experience!

Can't help with hotel info, sorry! We flew into airport then took cab to Aloft Hotel (which was fantastic). The next day, we took a cab to the port.

Baltimore is unlike any other port. Most do self assist carrying off their own luggage

The ship is also late to arrive so the arrive at 10:30 to be first on the ship will not fit. They are still people getting off at 11

We arrived between 12:30=1:00. Checked in and walked onboard.

We stayed at the Best Western BWI airport a few years ago and would recommend it.

It was near the outlet mall, had a fantastic pub next door, and offered a cruise shuttle with free parking, and continental breakfast. We booked through Trinity Reservations and were happy with the price.

Have fun!

Jenn :)

We live less than two hours away so . Have cruised from here twice and will again when the pride returns. It is a very easy process here and we get to the port around 11:00 - 11:30. Thru check in and ready to board in less than 30 minutes. Then you may have to sit and wait to board if they arrived late. Does seem to happen regularly. Both times we were on before 1:00 though. The pride is our favorite.

JustKeri86,

We normally arrive to ports at 10:30 and are on board by 11:30, but at Baltimore we arrived at 11:40 and we were on board at 12:50. Arriving at noon or a little after should result in your FTTF working for you.

Have sailed the Pride out of Baltimore 4x and going for #5 in August. We stay at the Hampton Inn in White Marsh, which is about 20 minutes north of Baltimore. It's near a big mall, movie theatre, and restaurants. The hotel has a pool, free breakfast, and shuttle to/from the pier. Very friendly, large rooms, clean. Since we are from NY it is about 20 minutes closer to drive there and once we get back to our car, we are that much closer to home.

Have sailed out of Baltimore 3X. Never had a problem with parking or check in.

Just remember your experience may differ. We had FTTF 9/2014 and there was a delay in the ships arrival due to weather and having to go further out from the coast to avoid some storm. The seating got so backed up they stopped people from coming thru security. We were already in the building and seated so no issue for us but they kept announcing how there was a delay and security was closed. The PA in the building is lousy.

That said once the wedding parties went on board and the privileged FTTF was right on their heals and we were on board an empty (felt) ship.

FWIW

Sailing from Baltimore is easy-peasy which was really helpful when I went with my hubby on his first cruise in April. Just pull into the parking area, pop the trunk, let them get your bags, park the car, go into the cruise terminal, check in and walk onto the ship into brunch! Best boarding ever!

In september we did the park and cruise package with Best Western BWI in Elkridge booked through Trinity Reservations as well. IIRC, it was $99, taxes included. Free shuttle to and from the port.

Thanks for this info!!!

We used trinity reservations for our Bayonne cruises- and were very happy!!!

so we booked this deal for our New Years cruise!!!

Glad to hear it's good :D
