My husband and I are getting excited for our vacation. We have been taking in the reviews and are a bit apprehensive however we will make the best of it.

1. We follow a bit of a high protein diet and are wondering if they have peanut butter and greek yogurt on board? I do plan on packing some protein bars for us in our luggage.

2. Are English Muffins to be found in the morning at the buffet?

3. Where and when is happy hour aka (two for one drinks)? Have purchased the vouchers and ready to go.

4. We would like to self disembark. How does that process work?

Thank you!

We did see Greek yogurt and English muffins at breakfast. I never found a two for one drink special and I did ask and they looked at me like I was nuts. They do have a self disembark and from what I know you get off really early around 645 am if you opt for that. We didn't because we had too much luggage.

Just got off the Divina on Saturday.

I have seen English Muffins in the morning buffet along with many types of breads.

We did the self disembark -- it was the best disembarkation we had in our many cruises. You need to fill out a form given in the daily bulletin and hand it into guest services by Wed. You will then receive gray luggage tags the day before disembarkation -- they are basically to let the people checking on the ship that you are scheduled to self-disembark.

Everyone needs to be out of their cabins by 7AM, but when self-disembarking, you'll need to leave earlier. There is a full breakfast in the buffet available starting at 6.

The gray luggage tags are numbered 1, 2 or 3 indicating different times you should be at the Black and White lounge. I think the times were like 6:30 (for not-numbered gray tags), 6:45 for gray 1, 7:00 for gray 2, 7:15 for gray 3. We were gray 1 so when we got to the lounge at 6:45, they said that we were free to go (there was hardly anyone else there). There was no lines anywhere, so we were down at the shuttles/taxis by 6:55 or so (it is a bit of a walk and a minute or two to chat with customs).

They tell you (if you watch the disembarkation video on TV) not to show up early or late to the lounge. There are no general ship PA announcements on when to leave, only in the lounge do they tell you.

Excellent. Thank you for all the details. Did you enjoy your cruise? Any other tips?

Yes, we enjoyed the cruise a lot.

Some tips:

1. The buffet is very crowded up front and all of the seating is taken at busy times of the day. There is always quieter seating available at the back of the ship. This was one of our favorite quiet spots (outside of lunch time) -- a nice view out the back.

2. If you like to try different foods, the "Ethnic Corner" is at the back of the buffet as well.

3. If you like mac-and-cheese and finger foods, the "Children Corner" is in the back too -- seen lots of adults getting food there.

4. If you don't have a balcony (we had an inside cabin), you can pretend to have a private balcony with the stairways at the back of the ship. They are on every deck in the back 2 corners of the ship and hardly used by anyone. Our cabin was close to one of the doorways. Only problem with this was that there was nothing to sit on.

I just got off he divina lst aturday. Before i left, i read so many bad reviews that i was concerned whether to go or not......well im back to tell you, that i worried for nothng!!!! The divina is a beautiful sparkling ship with the nicest crew. Seems that the food was a big concern, but i ate all my meals in the main dining rooms and other than getting lukewarm soups a couple of times, the food was very g ood. I never saw 2 for i drinks, but they had a great book of tickets ( i think 12 for $55) and could be used everywheres. (there was about 20 bars) if youre worried about how the crew acts towardyou, i always smiled and said good morning ,to everyone first, and that made all the differnce! I take 4 cruises a year, and will probobly take the divina again no complaints!!:

Hi Vera- it was lovely spending time with you and Nancy the last evening. So wish I was back on board. Met Nancy again on the coach to FLL where she joined her Princess cruise. At the airport those disembarking Princess were all hacking so hope she didn't pick up anything.

These aren't really tips, but some tidbits from our experience:

- We went to the Black Crab dining room @ 1pm on embarkation day and requested a table for 2, they waitlisted us and we got our desired table the next night.

- Food in the MDR came hot to us (more so than other cruises), maybe because we were at the table for 2.

- We noticed some less costly ingredient substitutions in the MDR - bay scallops in an appetizer instead of the advertised sea scallops, and medium-large shrimp instead of king prawns in a meal. Not a real big deal especially considering the low cost of the cruise.

- Appetizers and desserts in the MDR were probably twice the portion size of the other cruise lines. MDW loves cheese cake and the large slices (multiple nights) they gave her.

- We were able to make the 7pm show even though we did 6pm early dining. Likely because we were at a table for two. To do this, we needed to skip dessert a couple of nights. So much for the slow, European-style dinners that some reviews complained about...maybe we just had a really good waiter.

- The tube slide was fun, even for adults. On the first sea day, there were about 8 people (including myself) doing it at any time (it is open from 10-1, and 2-5 everyday). During port days, I was the only one. It was great to stand at the top of the slide, what was basically deck 18, and see the sights from there. Oh, here is a tip...if you lay down on the slide, you go much faster and at the bottom, make sure you close eyes and hold your nose or you are going to get a snoot-full of salt water (personal experience).

The cheese cake was great as the Crème Brule. (sp.)

I felt the food was good for mass market and they are catering to the American Market more, not everything is pasta as we had on the Poesia and Opera. I however, love the Italian flair. All was great for me. What's not to like on a cruise?

what time was the drink specials at??

The biggest special I ever saw was like 10% off, the first gala night some drinks were free for like an hour. I had the package, so, didn't pay much attention to prices, but, there was never any buy one get one free that I noticed. I'll check my dailies and update this thread if I find anything.

Correct Maureen. The only "Happy Hour" specials advertised in The Daily's is for The Casino. Example: Join the fun from 1:00pm to 4:00pm! Play Roulette for as little as $0.50; or Blackjack, Easy Stud Poker, Five Card Stud Poker and Extreme Poker for a $3.00 stake. The above example was taken from Sunday's Daily.

The drink special is just a reduced price for the special drink of the day. Example:

Alcoholic Cocktail: Purple Rain $6.25 Non-Alcoholic Cocktail: Dirty Banana Shake $3.75.

That's just luring them into the casino, not a special. The packages can't be beat.

Were you able to pick up the drink tickets at check in? Or did you have to go to some place on the ship to get them? I have pre ordered them, but I remember that the last time I sailed on the Divina with a preordered package they sent me all over the ship to get my card notated appropriately.
