CruiserBruce Posted December 29, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2015 (edited) This is discussed frequently here. You will get more personalized service from a TA in most cases. A TA might get you a better fare, but it all depends on the TA and the cruise line involved. It will be rare for a TA to get you a higher fare. Some TAs will monitor prices for drops and other added benefits, but others won't. Edited December 29, 2015 by CruiserBruce

OCruisers Posted December 29, 2015 #4 Share Posted December 29, 2015 We use our long time TA! :)
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 29, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2015 We use a TA and a TA can provide amenities that a cruise line won't and should something go wrong they can be your advocate with the cruise line. Keith

cruiseonthebrain Posted December 29, 2015 #7 Share Posted December 29, 2015 I actually like to book everything straight through the cruiseline. I am an over planner and control freak though :-)
Rare Morgsmom Posted December 30, 2015 #8 Share Posted December 30, 2015 I use TA's as I get better prices and usually OBC. Yes it is a hassle in that you can't just pick up the phone and adjust your reservation if needed (say you wish to move dining preferences) but if you are a seasoned cruiser you probably know your cabin/dining etc pref when you book so there really would be no need for changes. I have also found that having a high volume TA can be helpful should something go wrong. They tend to have more clout in calling on your behalf than lil' o' you.
