Yes, for quite a while now, as long as they are dress shorts. Except on Elegant night, and never in the steakhouse.

When we went on the Disney Dream a couple of years ago I saw more shorts in the dining room than I had ever seen on Carnival!

So I know for sure they have been allowing them at least on the Disney Dream for quite awhile. (none of elegant night of course)

That's a good one. Kinda miss the Windjammer Barefoot cruise's....

I am sure it has something to do with the wants of the people. I dont want to all dressed up while on vacation. It is vacation after all. Also, people dont dress up like they used too. Who has been to a wedding where there was someone wearing jeans? Or a wake? Funeral? or even a job interview? Court appearance? I am sure we all have. Is it right. No. But its the way it is and the cruise lines are trying to conform.

NCL also didn't invent open dining.

Let others define the bleeding edge, Carnival can afford to wait and see what works and what doesn't.

Just got my reservation for booked Princess cruise,

sorry NCL allowed shorts long before Carnival. All CCL can do is follow everybody else and try to keep up.
