If you book during school-in-session times, there are many fewer kids onboard...and the kid's clubs keep them busy, and you truly don't notice them!

Thomson have some child-free weeks.

School season and LONGer cruises will have far fewer children. I did a transatlantic cruise one october for 13 days.... I think there were about 10 children and most were very young (6 and under). We didn't even notice them really as the the Kids Club kept them very entertained, we just saw them on a parade on the decks one afternoon.

When I took a cruise on Crystal there were 3 children onboard. Although pricey it may be what you are looking for.

Regent Seven Seas has no facilities for children.... Have had between 2 & 20 kids on 4 different cruises. Stay away from summers and Alaska that's when you see a child or 2.

Frankly the children I have seen are better behaved and better dressed than a few passengers ;)

P&O have three ships which are over-18 only. Fred Olsen and Voyages of Discovery allow children but don't get many.

We did a HAL cruise last Sept/Oct (21 nights) - there were 5 kids onboard. Only 2 of which belongs to passengers. The others were crew kids. And about 1/2 way through one of the new entertainers brought another child. The oldest was about 8 and the 2 youngest in the group were babies.

As well as the adult only P&O three ships, and the occasional Thomson, Saga have ships for adults only, with one being for over 55yrs, although the partner can be under that age.
