Love the photos! I was originally signed up for PARTY as well, but I had to cancel. Oh well, I'll just live vicariously. :)

Also, I appreciate the shots of Costa Rica! We depart on our Windstar Costa Rica cruise in 6 weeks. We'll be doing a zipline canopy ride, as well as going to that bridge where you can see the crocs. Should be wonderful! It look so lush there.

Richard.

Our cabin was at the front of the ship so there was no problems there.

We spent some time at Horizon lounge during late evenings on sea days and I must say I did not notice any unusual vibrations. Lots of time outside Horizon on the aft deck and also did not notice anything.

Never heard any negatives from the group and I know a couple of people had aft cabins.

Thanks, Jim!

The Voyager is indeed a beautiful ship. When we did the Canal in '04, there WAS a pretty bad Vibration at the stern at the higher speeds the ship must travel on this itnierary. Your information, along with some other info I have received leads me to believe that the problem is no more, and that makes me very happy. Other than the problem we experienced at the very stern, the ride on this ship was the smoothest we've experienced on any ship or line. And everything else about the ship was just top notch. We look forward to cruising her again.

Thanks,

Richard

Jan B and I did some comparasions of Voyager to Mariner for fun.

We like better on the Voyager.

Cabin colors.

Seperation walls between cabins on Verandas

Pool bar

Pool grill

Atrium grand stairs.

Better on Mariner.

Bathroom. ( I know this is hard to believe but it seemed bigger on Mariner)

Mariner lounge. Liked the way you could go upstairs to casino.

Atrium the rest of the stairs.

Outside on deck 12 front of ship.

Minor huh?

Jim,

I really enjoyed your photos. We followed you through the Canal by one day on the Windstar.

I'm sorry I don't have a photo, but one night we saw your ship somewhere off the coast of Costa Rica, steaming west. The ship was all lit up and looked absoulutely beautiful.

I hope you had a wonderful time, it sure looks like it from the pictures.

Beth.

The night you saw us all lit was probably when we were getting ready to meet the Seven Seas Mariner, (sister ship), going the other way. That was a real treat.

They did a 360 in place. We circled them. Horns were blowing, music playing, spot lights on. Our Staff Captain took over a very large (mangum), bottle of French Champgne to them which all the passengers had signed the wooded crate it came in, and they gave us a very large world map which was signed by all the passengers. Really was fun.

Thanks for sharing your great pictures. My parents and I are planning to do the Panama cruise on Mariner in April/May 2007.

A couple of question - Did you notice if there were activities for single folks in their 40's on your cruise?

How dressed up did people tend to be? Would shorts/polo shirts during the day and sports jacket/slacks in the evening be OK?

RSSC is very good at having activities for everyone. I think they have a singles party for those interested, but nobody is excluded from anything.

Since our cruise was over New Years Eve we had 4 formal nights.

(I hate them), Most men wore dark suits. A few had tuxes.

Shorts / Polos, (t-shirts), swim wear during the day are fine.

On Country Club Casual nights Polo's and slacks are perfect. On Semi formal nights Country Club Casual with a sports coat was just perfect.

Ladies wore formals or cocktail type dresses for formal night, and sundresses most other nights. A few did have coordinate slack sets on semi night.

Don't be afraid to wear something more than once. The seasoned travelers do and get on and off the ship with very little luggage. With the 50 lbs per bag and 2 bags per person allowance on airlines really makes you think hard about this.

I know we have each gone to a medium sized suitcase on rollers, and a satchel bag that slips over the handle for ease of getting around airports etc. We then each carry another satchel bag as carry on.

Does that help? Feel free to send me an e-mail if you have more questions.

Jim,

Thanks so much for the info! Each line handles things a little differently, so it's great to get the perspective from someone who has actually been on the the specific trip which we'll be going on. The hints about the luggage were especially helpful.
