I am looking for reviews of going with Scenic Tours Antigua for an all inclusive day pass to Pineapple Beach Resort. It includes transportation to the resort and back to the port, as well as a stop at Devils Bridge. The tour is called Pineapple East Tour with Scenic Tours Antigua. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

Was also considering using Scenic Tours - I don't have any specific info on the above tours - but in general looks like some very good reviews on tripadvisor in regard to this tour company:

I would love to hear from anyone who has done this as well. Sounds like a great way to see a little of the island and also a great beach day! They do get great reviews on Trip Advisor, but I emailed yesterday and have yet to hear back. One thing that concerns me is the end time of 4:00. It seems a good distance from the pier and I like to get back about an hour before all aboard, which is 4:30.

I have had several communications from them - all fairly prompt - and I think they will work with you on timing - our ship is leaving at 4 pm - and they did agree on a 2:30 pm pickup to get us back to the port by 3 pm at the latest!

Froufie - does he take you to Long Bay beach? When DD & I sailed Victory in 2009, we toured with Gordon and had a beach stop at Long Bay. Back then, the hotel (not Grand Pineapple but one down near the "end" of the beach) was still in operation. The water was amazing.

I'd love to return there. Went to Coconut Beach Club in November 2013 but I see that it's currently closed. Knowing how timelines can often be rather inaccurate, I don't want to plan on returning there and find it still hasn't reopened. Besides, I really want to return to Long Bay.

Looks like you're sailing a few weeks before we are. We have 8 ports in 11 nights! It's going to be exhausting, even though I've been to all of them except Tortola and I'm not planning on doing much of anything.

yes it is Long Bay - and I am only hearing and reading good things about that beach so super duper excited!!!

We have 6 ports in 10 days - only 3 sea days (not enuf for me LOL) so it will be a bit exhausting - so many beaches...so little time LOLOL :)

It looks really nice, but $75 for a beach day is rather steep. I can't eat/drink that much!

With 8 ports, even if I don't do much, the cost is getting up there. And, of course, I want a couple of post-cruise days in San Juan afterward to recuperate (and that isn't cheap).

I'll keep my eye on Coconut Beach Club. Maybe they really will reopen before early December. And not raise the price too much. It was $45 when I was there and I think it had already gone up to $50 (plus transportation is separate; we had a van full so it was reasonable).

We're actually NOT doing the day pass for $75 - but just the 'beach/tour' option which is only $20 pp! I figure this is what we would pay for round trip transportation anyways to most of the beaches so this works out great - guaranteed return transportation and a beach with some stops along the way - all for only $20 (yes we will need to pay if we want to rent loungers/umbrellas and of course for any food/drink as we wish!)

Silly me! I just glanced at it and thought it was $50.

So, does anyone know the cost of renting chairs/umbrellas?

I can present this info to our Roll Call. There may be some that want the day pass and others who don't.

I'm still going to contact Coconut Beach and see how they're progressing.

THis sound very good! I also would like to know the cost of renting two loungers and an umbrella. Or, is there natural shade available?

I was told the standard/usual rate was $5 for loungers and $10 for an umbrella.

Will be on this cruise also! I have been to all of the ports before.....we are also looking to cut costs as an expensive excursion in each port is out of the question. Let me know if you find out anything about Coconut Beach Club. Thanks

Irtjs5 - Are you on our Roll Call? I just posted there about BeachLimerz (there's a thread here, too).

Froufie - Thanks for that info.

I just added my husband and I to the roll call. Is Angela the same Angela who organized tours on the Splendor last November? We were on that cruise and enjoyed several tours she organized.

Hi!!! Have you joined the roll call? If not here is the link... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2017463&page=14 (you should also check out the oct 24th roll call as most of the action is there since many are doing the back to back cruises: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2016699&page=46

As for my group - right now we have not made any definite plans still deciding between a) scenic tours pineapple beach b) scenic tours island/beach tour or c) Island tour with Lawrence of Antigua....

If you wish to do this tour you might want to go ahead and book it? Otherwise I can let you know once we decide but might not be a while yet?

Hope to see you onboard! :)

We are considering the Scenic Tours Pineapple East tour this coming June and would leave to hear from OP (or anyone else) about their experience with this tour. We are interested in an all-inclusive day pass and seeing Devil's Bridge, which is why we're leaning toward this particular tour. I've contacted Scenic Tours with a few questions but am looking for a customer perspective. Thanks.

We did this tour with the OP in November & we all enjoyed it so much we went back in January. The staff at Pineapple Resort were so welcoming we are considering doing a land trip there.

We got to Pineapple Resort in time for their great breakfast buffet when we went in November.

There is also a lunch buffet but do NOT miss eating at the Outhouse. It is a hike up a pretty steep hill but Miss Mary's ribs & chicken are to die for & she is the sweetest, most welcoming little old lady & the view from up there is GORGEOUS!

is the outhouse at the pineapple Beach resort?

Yes the Outhouse is at Pineapple Resort. It is a bit of a hike to get to it but well worth it!

The walkway to the top is paved.

The view from the top is GORGEOUS but I don't have any pics that do it justice.

What is the best way to get there? Taxi or private tour. If you want to go the outhouse for lunch is the cost included if you do the day pass?

We booked through Scenic Tours Antigua & transportation was provided to Pineapple Resort. We also made a stop at Devil's Bridge.

The cost of the Outhouse is included with the day pass.
