cruisenshop Posted April 20, 2013 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2013 We took a cab that fit three. Think it was less than 30 euros. Sent from my iPad using Cruise Critic Forums mobile app
CruiserBruce Posted April 20, 2013 #3 Share Posted April 20, 2013 You can do it cheaper on your own. If a taxi is 30 euro- $33, approximated, versus $60 for two people? Now you know why the standard recommendation on the boards is to do your own transpotation, as it will be cheaper over 90% of the time.

I think your math is a little off CB, 30€ equals around $39 ;)
bonsaipeter Posted April 20, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted April 20, 2013 Thanks, but was hoping someone had tried the bus. 30 Euros is $45 at my bank. Does guest services provide a better rate?
CruiserBruce Posted April 20, 2013 #7 Share Posted April 20, 2013 Thanks, but was hoping someone had tried the bus. 30 Euros is $45 at my bank. Does guest services provide a better rate? Who is guest services? Bank ATM will be the best rate. Regardless of conversion rate, 30 euro for the taxi for two people is a fair amount cheaper than $60 for the cruise line's transfer. As to public transit, check on the Spain board as mentioned. Many experts there.
BruceMuzz Posted April 21, 2013 #8 Share Posted April 21, 2013 The Barcelona subway now takes you to the airport. The subway station nearest the ship is at the foot of Las Ramblas, near the Columbus statue. The shuttle bus from the ship to Columbus Statue will cost you around 3 Euros. The subway ride will cost you 2 Euros more.
Ashland Posted April 21, 2013 #9 Share Posted April 21, 2013 Taking into consideration you'll have luggage you may find a taxi might work out easiest. JMHO and experience.
delily Posted April 21, 2013 #10 Share Posted April 21, 2013 Everyone takes a cab. In all the posts I've read looking for the same answer I've not found anything different. A couple of people have bought the cruiseline transfer but it costs more.
herbanrenewal Posted April 21, 2013 #11 Share Posted April 21, 2013 Everyone takes a cab. . Not everyone, especially not economy minded low budget travelers who travel with carry-on only. Trains From Barcelona Airport airport train renfeRENFE Train Tel: +34 90 210 9420 (International) Tel: +34 90 232 0320 The RENFE train service runs approximately every 30 minutes to and from Barcelona airport to the city centre. Travel time approximately 25 minutes. You can catch the train from Clot, Passeig de Gràcia , or Barcelona Sants (otherwise known as Sants Estacio) The name of the stop you want for the airport is Aeropuerto. If travelling from the airport to the city centre you can get off at Barcelona Sants, Passeig de Gràcia or Clot which are serviced by metro stops. From these you can change for the Barcelona metro underground system to go to your final destination. If you have not bought a T10 ticket and just purchased a normal ticket then you will have to buy another ticket for the change at Estacio Sants Barcelona Sants. If you have a T10 ticket you can change without paying an additional charge. The metro runs directly from Barcelona Sants station and from Passeig de Gràcia. If you are arriving into Terminal 1, a shuttle bus will take you from outside of the terminal to the train station entrance. klauer Posted April 21, 2013 #13 Share Posted April 21, 2013 After reading the instructions for public transportation, I would definitely take a taxi.
pris993 Posted April 21, 2013 #14 Share Posted April 21, 2013 We have done several cruises in and out of Barcelona. Taxi is the best option. There are airport buses that stop in the city center but you still need to take a taxi to the port if you elect this option, the combo of bus and taxi would not be cheaper. The airport is not that far from the cruise docks.
