Royal Caribbean will reveal more details about Oasis of the Seas' innovations and "neighborhoods" on June 18 -- and the official e-invitation offers some intriguing clues as to what to expect. Here's our take -- what's yours? Vote in the poll above and post your "wish list," too!

WOW tough choice but had to go for Memphis ...as I would love to be able to have more choices in music styles etc onboard so this fits the bill for me.
Now I wonder where the underwater show would fit into one of those neighbourhoods?

I think one neighborhood will be a spa, or serenity neighborhood, located near the spa. Something like the Aqua Class on CELEBRITY SOLSTICE but taken to an even higher level.
Another neighborhood may be an all suite neighborhood, complete with a Concierge Club and other special amenities. Other themes could be Asian, Hawaiian, etc. It will be interesting to see what they actually are! Ernie |

I thought the "neghborhoods" were ll going to be from NYC?
It will be interesting to see if they try other cities...I hadn't considered that.So since I never get to ski in real life, let's bring on a ski slope.

they were tough choices...of them I would say New Orleans but the ski slope sounds cool too...maybe even like the Disney water park...
I just want to see real solariums/pools with the retractable roofs...I miss them when we sail on the Explorer... maybe the name Oasis of the Seas has something to do with a neighborhood...makes me think maybe a theme with palm trees in a desert???

I don't think the neighborhoods will be based on New York neighborhoods but on different types of venues and amenities the ship will offer.

While all of these "neighborhoods" in the U.S. would have their appeal, how about thinking about "neighborhoods" that represent other parts of the world? Since Royal Caribbean has become a global cruise line, neighborhoods dedicated to the different regions they cruise to would be awesome (and would be a great marketing tool for people to consider other cruises while onboard this one). For example, some neighborhoods would include "Europe", "Asia", "Alaska", etc.
One that comes to mind right away (since these ships are deployed at one point or another in this area) is a neighborhood dedicated to the many cultures and flavors of the Caribbean. People might think "why devote a neighborhood to an area that I'm about to see in person"? And I have two answers. The first one is because the Caribbean in general has multiple cultures that cant be experienced in one week (Cozumel is definitely different than going to San Juan). A Caribbean "neighborhood" would allow guests to "taste" a bit of those parts of the Caribbean that they won't visit during this particular cruise. The other answer is: for the same reason that hotels in different parts of the world are decorated to reflect their location. It wouldn't take away from the Caribbean cruise. It would probably enhance the whole cruise experience and make the guest feel as if they are already in the Caribbean from the moment they step onboard!

If there is indeed a South Beach Miami area, this would be the neighborhood for a cigar bar. It would a fitting tribute to Calle Ocho (the Little Cuba area of Miami). A ship this big should have a cigar bar.

The neighborhood I was raised in had acres of farmland. Barns and gardens with cattle, horses, chickens and hogs. I'm guessing that ain't one of the ones they'll be announcing?

I like the idea of a dedicated Asian area. Jade is nice but it should have it's own dining space.

WOW! So many good choices. I am partial to New Orleans cause I enjoy the culture and food there. Chinatown is another very interesting idea, but so are some of the other suggestions. I can't wait to see what RCI decides to do and also cruise onboard the Oasis.

I voted "other".
My suggestion is: Playa del Banco neighborhood. A designated area with 3 or 4 financial institutions where you can refinance your home to pay for your sea pass bill (after going through all the extra amenities which will carry an additional charge).

I hope they decide to do theme neighborhoods, taking in the best of the best. Like the nightclub neighborhood could encompass memphis, new orleans, harlem, nashville. miami, LA. Theme park neighborhood could encompass vegas, maryland shore, jersey shore, the pier in santa monica. With carnival games, magic shows, the casino, the carousel. The spa neighborhood, it's own little oasis. Palm trees, ponds, waterfalls. The glitzy neighborhood, madison ave, melrose, boca raton with all the upscale shops. Other than the areas of the ship that you can actually see the neighborhoods, I guess they could decorate the cabins in the theme of the general area of the ship. I doubt they would do that, but it would be fun.

I thought one of the pics looked like one of the conservatories from one of our botanical gardens -- such as Brooklyn or NY Bontanical Garden in the Bronx. I do like the "other" cities idea.... The entire concept reminds me a bit of WDW -- you know, the themed resorts (Boardwalk Villas, Beach Club Resorts, etc). Laura
