  1. We did the ship's excursion which from what I've heard is a better overall tour. Also, the tour should be as soon as you get to PC and will return in time for all aboard. You can't guarantee that with Uber.
  2. He stated it was tradition after some not so nice person said it's one reason they won't cruise from there. The majority of people who cruise from there are from TX. I'm a Texan by birth and was just back there in Nov. There are TX flags and US flags flown everywhere, large ones. IYKYK.
  3. People report this, but in over 40 cruises, we've never been charged for anything we didn't purchase after the cruise. A couple of bad charges while still onboard, but those are easily fixed. A couple of pool towels and a drink or two, but never any afterward.
  4. It's not really a switch. Just pay off your bill at Guest Services before the cruise is over.
  5. Yes, we have our D+ luggage tags but never use them. They were mailed to us. I've seen lots of reports of them just breaking the first use anyway.
  6. I have our D+ pins and they are still on the cards they came on. I accidentally threw away our D pins on the cruise we received them. Most people do not wear them, although occasionally we see them. We're 33 points from Pinnacle and will only wear those when attending an event. We've always joked that some wear them on their pjs and swimsuits.
  7. Awful defensive lol. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. And, saying I don't know why is my opinion. I didn't realize appetizers were something that needed understanding. BTW, Merion Mom said before I did. Gonna go after her too?
  8. That is not what my post was about, but okay. My opinion is they fill a void and yours is you like them.
  9. Depends on when your dinner is. We eat lunch around 12 and do late seating, so by about 5 or 6 we are hungry for a little something. For early diners, I don't know why they don't just go to dinner. The apps aren't that great, but they fill a void when needed.
  10. You're one of the few people I know who didn't have chickenpox. I had them at age 6 and my DH was prob about 6-7. Heck, my sons who are 40 and 38 had them when they were 7 and 4. 7 year old brought them home from first grade. My oldest son had shingles in his senior year of college (stress induced trying to get everything done on time) yet no Dr will give him the vaccine as he's "too young". My other DIL has health issues so her Dr gave it to her when she was 35.
  11. We were on EN to Bermuda a couple of years ago and at about 440 points we were #3 onboard. There were only two Pinnacles on that sailing so we got recognized as D+ and being #3 point wise. We're on Vision to Bermuda in Aug and who knows lol.
  12. I thought new Pinns were recognized on the cruise they go over. I know they don't get the benefits til the next cruise. We're with friends (who are already Pinn) on our Nov Wonder cruise when we go over and were hoping they'd be there for the recognition.
  13. We're definitely happy about the free internet as we currently share our free 48 hours each. It'll be nice to have Chops for breakfast. We used to enjoy the D breakfast on Grandeur in the MDR, but that's no more.
  14. Ah, the diamond event. Wine freely poured. And bar snacks. We were on EX for our first couple of D events and it was help up in the glass enclosed card room off the VCL (like a greenhouse when the sun was out) We currently have 667 points and will hit 700 in Nov. I thought I'd be 80 before we got there, but we're 64 and 66.
