  1. I find the Galveston hotels to be expensive. I like to stay in Webster which is 30 minutes away from the port. I usually get something decent there for under $100. I've been parking at Discount Cruise Parking. I pay about $90 for the week there which is the cheapest parking I've found there post-covid. Here is a comparison of all Galveston parking lots I did a few months back. https://www.saintgregtravel.com/galveston-cruise-parking/
  2. It’s my second favorite airline. I’ve done 1st class, premium and standard with them. I just like that video.
  3. I’m not a huge fan of the smaller ships so I’m not seeking those out. I’ve been on I think every ship 2008 or newer I believe. Well not Firenze or Luminosa I guess. But the only fantasy class ship I was on was Elation. The only spirit class ship I’ve been on is spirit. Conquest I’ve done glory and freedom. I haven’t been on a sunshine class ship..yet. But I was on Triumph which is now sunrise. I believe @Jamman54 is going to complete the fleet next year. Or close to it. I’m just waiting for them to scrap the older ones. Then I can say I’ve done the fleet.
  4. I haven’t been on the newer ships yet. I do have Encore and Prima booked in the first three months of next year. So far I’ve only been on Jewel. I’m doing it again this summer. That’s actually my next cruise so I’ll be posting the link in this thread when it comes around. Before you book make sure you buy a cruise first certificate. It’s a free $150. And if you wait they frequently do the $500 ones for $250. You may find this interesting: https://www.saintgregtravel.com/carnival-norwegian-princess-comparison/
  5. All that noise while docking on port mornings and preparing to leave in the afternoon was no picnic in Riviera 1 on my first cruise (elation). You didn’t need an alarm clock. You had 45 minutes of this. IMG_2037.mov
  6. I know there’s a holiday inn express that is like two blocks away and was a pretty good price (for manhattan) last summer.
  7. I would say that’s unusual though. I have only seen the Halloween theme on the October Panorama cruise we were on. And I’ve only seen the Christmas ones on the December Vista cruise I was on.
  8. There’s a room I used to book on Dream class. When Vista class came out I booked the same room without realizing they changed it into an adjoining room. I could hear everything said in the next room. I never made that mistake again. Hopefully they have better privacy on the excel class. https://youtube.com/shorts/-9H63MlTSNA?si=O-KOaYDBdBvvKCiH
  9. I’ve done LaGuadia and Newark. JFK is definitely the farthest and one I’ve been told to avoid.
  10. That wasn’t in the plan but I was stuck in the airport for like five hours the day before due to a baggage delay. So I had to make up that time.
  11. I had the hotel watch my suitcase while I went on a hop on hop off bus tour. I boarded like 3pm and was about the only person in the terminal.
  12. And next to pickleball they have what I called mini pickleball.
  13. Yeah I wasn’t a fan of it myself. No basketball, no mini golf, no arcade, no waterpark all adds up to a lot of kids on lido deck…..all the kids on lido deck.
