  1. inexperienced with Celebrity but not overall. Booked porthole and sunset verandas on the Apex to get more traditional balcony feel.
  2. Posts like these worry me. We are only going on our 2nd Celebrity cruise next year and we are taking family who have never sailed Celebrity before. I am overweight although I can certainly stand. My family members do enjoy drinking and smoking. We are nice people. Will we be judged and given nasty looks?
  3. You are off to a great start with your review. Hope you have a great time! We were on the Epic a few years ago and really enjoyed it.
  4. We also enjoyed Lona Cocina on one of your recent Florida trips. Have a great embarkation day!
  5. So glad I did this cruise before. It's one thing to drop Roatan. It's another to drop the Napali coast or the inside passage. I hope this doesn't become an industry wide trend.
  6. Definitely check out Cunard. They have cabins in different price levels
  7. Yes, did you book through NCL Air or or purchase travel insurance?
  8. Hi Tee Rick. I know there is a fee for the Craft Social Sliders. I was wondering if they were any good.
  9. We are stopping in St. Maarten in Feb. 2024 via cruise ship. We are in port from 10am-630pm. We signed up for a beach Hopping Tour with St. Maarten Presidential Tours that goes to Maho and Orient Beaches with a stop in Margot. It says tour is 5-6 hours and leaves at 10:30am. Are we cutting it too close? Have heard St. Maarten traffic is bad. Don't want to miss the ship.
  10. Gary is supportive of NCL in general because he loves Oceania. Sharon at Sea also likes NCL.
  11. Question for Jason Liberty- are you concerned that as you cutback on food quality and variety, that cruisers will switch to other forms of vacation?
  12. You can fly onto a glacier and ride a dogsled. The destination is the excitement.
  13. Can your parents walk much? Kona is a tender port but once you get off the tender, Kona is a very walkable town. Kaui- Back when we took the cruise back in 2017, NCL provided a free shuttle to a local beach in Kauai.
  14. The Apex has traditional Balconies in the back of the ship called Sunset Verandas. They also have covered balconies called Porthole Balconies. Otherwise, the non-suite balconies are the Infinite Verandas which people have described in this thread and are not traditional balconies.
  15. Our very cruise was on the Celebrity Century in 1998. The food was amazing.
  16. Yeah check out Princess or HAL.. Or Uncruise, or Ocean Victory. Fly to Alaska and explore the interior.
  17. When we took, the POA, we rented a car in a couple ports in advance through Discount Hawaii Car Rentals. https://www.discounthawaiicarrental.com/en-us/. In Kaui, where we had an overnight, we rented the car for the day, downloaded, the gypsy app for Waimea Canyon and Kokee State Park. it was great. Then, the guys played a little golf and we had an early dinner in Poipu Beach and returned the car. The next day in Kauai, we took a shuttle to the beach. In Maui, we took the NCL excursion- Halealakala at Sunset and my DH and son loved their NCL snorkeling excursion in Kona. Both were great.
  18. We took a cruise out of Athens (Pireus) this past October. We stayed at a lovely hotel near the Acropolis called the Ava Boutique Hotel and Suites. https://www.avahotel.gr/ The friendly service in Athens was fabulous. Have a wonderful time.
  19. You night want to book a pass for the thermal spa. Its a wonderful spa with a thalassotherapy pool and an outdoor deck.
