  1. We were in YC, but it did work without the light switch being on. That may have been a change with Seashore/Seascape build. Of course, it could have been a fixture only in YC, I suppose.
  2. No electric outlets on either side of the bed. The bathroom has one single outlet under a cover. The cover lifts, but not fully. We plug in a small night light.
  3. I think relying on an MSC document that is two-years old may not carry a lot of weight. More recently, MSC has outlined the the signature venues. Hola is included, since it is not technically an MSC product. It is separately owned, like Venchi:
  4. If you are Aurea, no, but you can go when you want. If you like your table and servers on the first night, you could let the maitre d know you would like that for set dining. I'm sure they would be able to accommodate you.
  5. Exactly. You may want to check when you board, but on Seaside, there is no dedicated Aurea dining room. They have usually carved out a portion of the Seashore dining room on Deck five for My Choice.
  6. If you are Aurea, it is automatic. There is no need or way to request anytime dining. No worries. Your confirmation will show your dining time as "My Choice" (MSC's term for anytime dining).
  7. I think if you plan on checking out at 11:00 and heading over, you will be fine. They probably won't begin boarding until 10:45 or so. They generally do not check your issued embarkation time, so you should be okay!
  8. Well, Clbl99 will be very disappointed if they go to Port Canaveral! Seascape sails from POM!
  9. I've had the pleasure of meeting Mr Hardy on board MSC Meraviglia. He is a very nice gentleman, and coupling this with the fact that he is Canadian [Remember, Canadians apologize (Oops, apologise!) for something that was someone else's fault!], I can assure you that no malice was intended on his part.
  10. Perhaps this dramatic hidden camera photo will prove the threat concerning the scourge of Vermont pirates.
  11. Same for us! We were recently in YC on Meraviglia. We got the same message back prior to the cruise. I always carry an extension cord, and I've always gotten distilled water. You can ignore the message, but you will likely have to remind your butler or junior butler. Overall, we had no problem, but always with MSC, YMVV!
  12. Plattsburgh is so close to the pirate-infested waters of Vermont! Would the Coast Guard allow sailing from Plattsburgh?
  13. People are being a bit too hard on the OP. Originally, the OP asked about cruises out of NY. Upon realizing that people may interpret NY as the state of New York, which would make readers, of course, think the OP was referring to Buffalo, the cruise capitol of the East, the OP quickly leaped in and clarified the question to be about NYC. The OP then stressed that it was NYC again. And again. And again. But I digress.....
  14. It think that this effort may be lost on the OP!
  15. I think if you just use the stairs in the public area by rooms 14193/91, you would be fine, you still have to go a bit more toward midship to be in the actual buffet area.
  16. The most recent interpretation of the perk may actually make you choose which one of the three who are Diamond may take advantage of the meal. People have reported that MSC is holding it to two meals per cabin, regardless of the number of Diamonds in the cabin. Not to say that you may not be able to wrangle a total of four meals (one for each).
  17. Cabin mate, not a spouse. The rules mention only an occupant in the room.
  18. That may have been me you referenced. We did this on Meraviglia in October for about that price, and I did relate our experience on another post. We have interior booked as well for upcoming cruises. I suppose DW will decide. Happy wife, happy life.
  19. Then we'd have to get into a discussion on flannels versus washcloths, or, more correctly "face flannels."
  20. Aah, that makes sense! In Europe, I suspect that many Diamond/Black members actually earned their status, and that allegiance should be recognized and rewarded.
  21. That's odd. No special entrance other than taking the steps up from near Gate A5. I only use the club 2-3 times a year when using DeltaOne or Upper Class on VS. Posted hours are 5 - 8:30 am, and 2 pm to 1 am, with the time in between held for Priority Pass.
  22. The Clubhouse doesn't really close for everyone at 1:30 p.m. For Priority Pass, the access ends at 1:30. It is open until 1:00 a.m. (although it goes into clean-up mode around 10:30, since the last Virgin flight is at 11:00 p.m.
  23. I see now what you were getting at. It's not that way here in the US sailings.
  24. Not for main theater shows. On some ships (Meraviglia class), they have a theater in the aft that that charges for shows. On Seashore class ships, there is a Cabaret theater in the aft that has shows for free (at least so far!).
  25. Are you thinking of the pre-COVID Cirque? In Carousel shows I've been on, there is no dinner show option like with Cirque, just the show and a drink option.
