  1. To clarify, the only time you will get a receipt to sign is if you are getting a drink that is not included as a normal part of YC. The bartender should tell if that is going to be the case before making the drink.
  2. You were docked port side? That is very unusual! I wonder if that factored in to the accident.
  3. I've never seen those bags before. Can't be Voyager Club gift, since it says YC, but they look better than the nylon drawstring bags!
  4. Why do I not believe that this has reduced your total number of pieces of luggage? Happy wife, happy life!πŸ˜„
  5. Long story short: We did it through MSC by phone call to customer service. Long reason: Went online into our booking, and the shows were listed. Can't remember if it was under entertainment or drinks, but when we picked a date or dates, the system blocked. When you cal, they can give you a date, but not a show time. We did have to call twice to get an agent who knew what to do, TBH.
  6. Hmmm. A sold out St. Patrick's Day cruise. What could possibly NOT go wrong?
  7. Shouldn't be a problem. I would have the YC concierge make the arrangements for you to let the Aurea dining room (or area, depending on the ship) staff know about the seating in Aurea.
  8. BTW, you can try and tie your reservation with your friends to try and get assigned dining together, which is easy if you are both Fantastica. If they are Aurea or Bella, you would have to go to the dining room when you board and ask the Maitre 'd to adjust reservations for both of you.
  9. Are you sure you are booked in the Aurea experience? Typically, Aurea level is the only one assigned to dine anytime you choose (other than Yacht Club). Fantastica allows you to request a time, and Bella is assigned. For dining room, most Divina Aurea passengers have said that the Aurea section was in the Black Crab (the two-tier mid ship restaurant).
  10. Miss the college kids (Monet and other shows) from February and March on the Seashore! They were so enthusiastic, and the singing and dancing were great.
  11. Great list! 1. I think meeting all those criteria limits a passenger from "Any cruise ship" to only Yacht Club equipped MSC ships. 2. If I could be so bold, I would add one other thing that adds to the experience: A caring and knowledgeable crew as a whole. We don't travel with the frequency you do, usually two or only one time a year, but on our recent first-time cruise on MSC Meraviglia last October, two events stood out to us. In the Top Sail Lounge, the bartender waved at us when we came in at our initial embarking, and said, "Two champagne, no prosecco, correct?" He was in the YC when we were on a B2B on Seashore in Feb-March of the year, and remembered our preference for champagne (or aversion to prosecco!). Even more amazing, our Junior Butler greeted us the second morning, and asked if we were in room XXX on the Seaside in 2019. He said that it was his first cruise as a Junior Butler, and he remembered us from that stay! That kind or memory and focus is amazing!
  12. We've seen it on a few occasions on recent cruises. The last two times were for an officer's family. I do like how MSC does some good things for the crew (recognition programs, allowing family members to sail for free, etc.).
  13. On a sailing from a US port, the ship must be zeroed out before boarding can begin.
  14. Oh, no, David! That can't be so! πŸ˜‰ Sorry for the apparent troubles you are experiencing in the UK. Here stateside, we can sleep at night knowing that USA MSC's theme is, "Promises made, promises kept."
  15. Posted a pdf and the link here in case others need it. 16. So sad. Enjoyed him as a CD on Carnival three times and twice on MSC. May he rest in peace.
  17. True, it is anytime you want, but as you pointed out, realistically you should not plan on being able to board much earlier than 11:00 a.m. I wouldn't show up at 9:30 a.m. to sit in the YC staging area for an hour and a half! We see a number of people confusing check-in time with boarding time. Two different animals! Notice, I did use the a.m. designation! πŸ˜‰
  18. I would say the better morning coffee bar would be the Loft Cafe on deck 8. It opens at 7:00 a.m.
  19. Yes, you do have an Espresso machine in your suite, but you also have 24-hour butler service, so you can have it delivered to your room. Ocean Cay (the restaurant, not the island) and all of the other specialty restaurants have a fee or a la carte pricing. This may be TMI, but this recent post from Seascape describes all the restaurants, including YC and other experiences: https://eatsleepcruise.com/msc-seascape-restaurants-guide-with-menus/
  20. Sorry that happened to you! Joe must be your cousin! πŸ˜‰
  21. Thanks. My Bad. I've only been on ships with more advanced technology, like the Seaside and Meraviglia class.
  22. Thanks, but even while he has bad re-venting days, MSCDivina2016 still has moments where pearls of wisdom are offered. I hope that could be said of all of us....Even the sarcastic Irish! ☺️
