  1. Agreed we were on a cruise when we had left dd at home and hurricane Ian turned and went far closer to us than expected. Being at sea we needed to know she was okay. Yes she lost power for a couple of days but was able to know she was okay, and be in touch with friends in case she needed to evacuate.
  2. Or if you both have apple devices switch to use the app for free and text each other for nothing! that’s what I do and text my daughter that I left behind for free too!
  3. I just got off ncl prima and it’s main dining room Hudson’s knocked the socks off royals mdr’s I’m off on symphony soon and X Beyond in January so I’ll be interested to see how they compare but full disclaimer eating specialty dining all trip on Beyond only have a 3 night dining package Symphony.
  4. The port fees and taxes are set by whatever the current rate is for that specific sailing (so you can view this on RC website to know how much it is). if you click “view itineraries” next to the offers it will show you exactly what cruises you can get comped as well as what cabin type is comped. if you chose to upgrade payment is due IN FULL at the time of booking, even if the upgrade cost is more than a standard deposit. This is the bit that now irritates me as to why bookings made through the offers are not subject to the same deposit/ final payment rules. We like to sail in suites so now we have to pay out a lot several months before final is due if we want to use our offers.
  5. A la carte has per person limit. Hibachi we were told was an up charge of $10 p.p. (but we didn’t get charged ymmv)
  6. Seems like most issues with crowding are on quantum class ships and will also be influenced by itinerary and demographics on board. we have sailed Oasis, Brilliance, Harmony twice, Mariner, Explorer and Indy since December. Not had any issues on any of them - guess we were either lucky or just got our timing right. YMMV
  7. Guess they don’t know where their ships are lol!
  8. RC IT at its finest. But don’t know how you could be viewing prices on the website for a cruise that isn’t even listed on the website to begin with 🤷‍♀️ As in where did you find the cruise to look up pricing to begin with?
  9. Anthem is on transatlantic. I don't know where you saw a Europe cruise on the 30th but it’s not on their website.
  10. I saw a video yesterday whereby Costa announced they have cancelled their entire upcoming Asia deployment. Reasoning was it was due to Covid protocols in area, and they do not see a change in these requirements anytime soon. normally when one cruise line pulls out most follow.
  11. No idea where you got that information. Have sailed the Med multiple times and never ever been asked for that.
  12. The “Cucumber martini” is actually called Urban Garden in CP 150
  13. Well my recommendation is the closest you will get. You stated you didn’t want to move your vehicle once you arrived at your hotel. I was only providing you an option for that. Otherwise your option is a hotel that is already built across the road from the port. Cruiselines are not in the business of building and operating hotels. The demand for a hotel next to a port terminal restricts demand to 1 night maybe 2 max before sailing. Cruise lines do not sail every day from any given port. Non cruise passengers are not going to want to stay in a hotel within a port. The demand is not there or it would already exist.
  14. I would guess it would probably do comparable itineraries to what the Oasis class ships were doing. Not too sure on the other ports. One would assume that when they build these ships they consider what ports they are able to fit in across multiple regions/ports.
  15. Totally agree. Not only what you already mentioned, but I can imagine as some point as they bring out more Icon class ships there is likely to be one based in the Mediterranean for a summer season. As Icon 2 is due out second quarter of 2025 I can feasibly see Icon going to Europe for that summer Season with Icon 2 in US. There will be plenty of demand in Europe for her.
  16. Agreed. To us we would love that to be included if they don’t want to build something. Easy for them to have a list at check in desk, and the only cost to them would be a meal. Minimal overhead cost for one meal considering what they charge for full suites.
  17. I agree with tipping as you go. There have been some ships that some bartenders have been better than others, even within the same bar. If they are slow and serve people out of turn then they are less likely to get a tip. If I get there and they remember me and my drink and are more attentive in general I will tip as I go. However at the end of the cruise I will go back and give the best bartenders a bigger tip on the last night.
  18. They used to but removed when they turned it into Perfect Day at Coco Cay. Hoping they remedy this is in the future.
  19. It is actually on Deck 6 not deck 5 according to the plans next to the Escape room. Now that Diamond and above get drinks put on their cards (and need to use those vouchers if getting drinks in the lounge) there is no need for it to be as large. It will be less crowded compared to when you used to not get vouchers and only got drinks in the lounge.
