  1. "Well, we had storm force 6 (out of 10) on our crossing." to what wind scale does this refer?
  2. https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidnikel/2024/08/28/norway-allows-cruise-ships-in-world-heritage-fjords-until-2032/ looks like Flam is still possible for a few more years.
  3. If as synoptic charts suggest HP becomes established over UK then that might generate east to north east winds down the Channel resulting in a long fetch and build of swell with a wind squeeze through the gap between the Cherbourg Peninsula and the south coast. On the other hand PO could go and then cancel spending a day slowly meandering round the channel.
  4. Warm and sunny doesn't mean no wind and swell.
  5. the Longships has a heli landing pad on top, the other lighthouse does not seem to have one
  6. Saw them enroute to Quebec late Sept south of Cape Race NF. TA will partly depend on route taken and cloud cover.
  7. The OP was asking about booking tours b4 boarding and then cancelling and rebooking on board with OBC.
  8. Don't cancel on board if your tour is wait listed. As soon as you cancel your place will go to the pax at head of wait list automatically.
  9. The same cruise 2019 was fashion themed TA. Of no interest to me and had no impact as far as I can recall. I shall await with interest if next year is the same.
  10. https://www.cunardcruceros.com/cunard/en.html cunard spanish ws find cruise click on map pop up appears with ports and timing
  11. For QA fiords we arrived @ 1210 and in cabin at 1pm cases arrived shortly after.
  12. My 3 year german shepherd doesn't leave my side for days when I return. However when I leave him with my daughter he hardly looks back as he can't wait to play with her equally mad 3 year golden retriever.
  13. Disembarkation on 3oth June was excellent, off at 0830.
  14. I confess to doing it once late at night transmitting Sogne fiord. It was empty.
  15. the first thing to appreciate is that QA is different from the Vistas. Once that is understand that you can start to see it positive and negative points Britannia balcony fine except for inadequate storage space for a longer cruise especially one which embraces cold and warm areas such as the 3 weeks we have in December, Xmas Markets to Hamburg etc and then the Xmas cruise itself to the Canaries. The hooks fitted to the cabin are poorly positioned one being so close to bathroom that the use of a coat hanger invariably gets in the way of the door. The size of the hooks are such that a clothing tag of normal size cannot fit over them. The bathroom is of course a great improvement. Other points: no bookshop, essentials such as tooth paste soon sold out from a very small stock in the first place. We did 2 tours; 1 Cunard, 1 independent both leaving 1130 returning 1630 approx. All food outlets closed at 1600 including pavilion Grill. On QV and QE daily programmes indicate Lido Grill open to 1700 or later. The most annoying features are decks 10 and 11 with the Grills terrace preventing an easy passage through the length of the deck. We did eventually work out how to get to deck 11 and find easy access to both port and starboard sides of the ship. Staff were of course upto Cunard, standard of food satisfactory, the AFH fine once you worked out the layout. You no longer have to hope the toast machine was set correctly as toast is supplied to order by the staff. Having said all this we can live with QA and adapt as necessary but we will be glad to get back on QM2 next year.
  16. Also scenic causing for QA in 2026.
  17. Correct subbed for Haugesund
  18. an official scenic cruise destination inthe future but we had an early preview
  19. a clearer day with many people's favourite ship as extra
  20. I think I can sort that layer.
  21. Geiranger Fiord taken from view point
