  1. We had a Concierge Level Veranda and this will be online tomorrow. All other show cabins we were able to visit will be online on Tuesday. steamboats
  2. Thanks again, @LHT28! @PirateShark, we asked for a priced bar menu and were sent to the Reception who told us to check the TV. We also asked at the media desk... so the end was, ask at each and every single bar. That´s when we gave up on it. Due to event they had no prices on the menus except for the excluded items (like high price spirits or bottles of wine). We were told that they didn´t want to confuse the guests with prices and getting frequent questions whether they have to pay or not... @basor as far as I remember they were saying that you can opt in for the new OLife program when you have booked the old one. They didn´t mention anything about those who booked cruise only fares (@bob brown). We may all have to wait until they officially launch the new program. steamboats
  3. It´s a short walk from the landing in Paducah. Just walk over there. steamboats
  4. Thanks, @LHT28 for jumping in with the date. I totally forgot it. I remember that all guests who booked under the current OLife conditions are able to change to the new one. steamboats
  5. Bars and lounges are online. Tomorrows entry might be a bit boring as I feature the side costs as far as they were available on this special cruise. Wine list and spa menu will be included. Onboard was announced that OLife will change so that you don´t have to chose anymore. Beer, wine and sparkling will be included for lunch and dinner. Not sure how this will change the beverage packages. But they said that everyone can change to the new OLife features. steamboats
  6. The food photos are still to come 😉 - but those will be in the daily review of the cruise itself. So wait for more... steamboats
  7. Restaurants are online - and I´ve also added the video link. Of course the talking in the video is in German but there´s not too much of talking 😉. steamboats
  8. Handover is planned for October 26th according to an article by Christoph Assies. After the handover they will move in the plants and trees into the Central Park. steamboats
  9. Thanks to all for your kind words! Restaurants are going online today. There will be another entry about bars and lounges then follows our cabin and the show cabins. I just added a link to my DHs photo gallery in the first entry. And he was just talking about getting his video online today. So I will add that link too. steamboats
  10. I just started my (German - use any automatic translation) review of the Christening Cruise of the new Vista. The first entry is a deck by deck review with lots of photos. There are more entries to follow but as I made more than 2,700 photos on this trip it will take some time! Enjoy! steamboats
  11. 6 Euro single ride is pretty overpriced for Italy actually regarding the fact that the BIRG ticket is 12 Euro and is valid all day for the train from Civitavecchia to Rome plus all public transportation in Rome. The additional bus from Largo della Pace to the train station was something inbetween 1.50 and 2.50 Euro for a single ride. steamboats
  12. The photo was taken right in front of the terminal building. So, yes, they take you right to the ship. steamboats
  13. On Saturday I saw two kind of busses - they white/grey ones saying Port Mobility on the side. I assume those are the ones still going to Largo della Pace. Then there were green busses saying "Porto - Stazione" at the front. Those are be the 6 Euro busses (according to the sign in the window). As I had my transfer to the airport included I didn´t check the busses. steamboats
  14. Just make sure, that the passport is valid for at least 6 months after the end of the cruise. That´s usually required by the cruise lines (not by the visited countries). steamboats
  15. From another German citizen... Passport for the whole duration of the cruise is sufficent. Additionally she needs ESTA for traveling to the US. steamboats
  16. The christening will be on the 8th in Copenhagen not in Kiel (on the 10th). steamboats
  17. A very well known garden along the Main river is the Hofgarten (better know as Rokokogarten) in Veitshöchheim - more here. More gardens in Bavaria - here. steamboats
  18. @ChrisB123 don´t worry... Just make the best out of it. September is a great month for the Upper Miss. But as the river is unpredictable you never know whether you can make it or not. Had this multiple times. My last cruise should have been St. Paul - St. Louis and then was Cincinnati - St. Louis. steamboats
  19. Go to the end of their website and there it´s says on the left side "it´s easy to find us". Click on the address and google maps is showing up. We walked the main road along the shore (to the left from the port facing the city) and then turned left into the town and made our way through the little streets up. steamboats
  20. Our tour included the drive up to the church, visit of the church. Then we either walked down the stairs or took the bus (we walked). After that we did tour the museum. We had an hour of free time in Lamego where we also visited the cathedral. For some exercise we climed up the stairs again and bought some souvenirs in the church shop and then down again to meet our bus. The Mateus Palace is very impressive from outside and inside. The gardens are regarded as the best of Portugal. And you have that postcard picture of the palace mirroring in the artifical lake. So a mix of history, culture and gardening. steamboats
  21. Decide on your own - Lamego and Mateus. If I could do only one I´d go for Mateus. steamboats
  22. We had the pleasure to explore the new A-Rosa Sena for two nights on the way from Cologne to Amsterdam (yes, the regluar cruise is 7 nights and a Cologne roundtrip). As we did not go on the whole cruise the focus is on the ship itself. All parts of my review regarding the ship are already online (use any kind of automatic translation for the text but there are tons of photos anyway). I will add a short review of the trip itself but that´s still in the making (or my job for this weekend). The ship is bilingual - German and English. All brochures or information onboard is available in both languages. At the welcome onboard reception the captain asked whether there are English speaking guests onboard. In that case he would have held his speech in both languages, He was "lucky" as all 250 guests (including 38 kids) were German speaking. steamboats
  23. It definitely isn´t... A cruise ship is sort of private like a shop or a hotel or any other building. You need the permission of the owner to take videos for publishing (Hausrecht). And for privacy reasons you´re not allowed to show other people without their consent (as long as they can be recognized). Like the example in the fitness studio - no way in Germany! You can´t show people on the threadmill in a video online. BTW, another point... Celebrity ships are registered in Malta, EU. So Maltese and European laws set in and not US law (unless the ship is in a US port). steamboats
  24. No, I never said it´s not commercial but it´s not published for everyone. @MobiusHky thanks for the link. The headline would be the thing here in Europe. As long as the person can´t be recognized you can publish it. BTW we differ between taking footage (video or photo) and publishing it. So taking the video for your private vacation summary is totally o.k. as long as you only show it to your family and friends. But it´s not o.k. to publish it online. Those examples of the viral videos would even be legal to publish as there´s a public interest in publishing them. But there won´t be any legal interest publishing a video of people laying next to the pool and enjoying their vacay. And even the US laws are stricter when it comes to show any minors in your pictures (which is more or less not to avoid on a cruise ship). steamboats
  25. Sorry, for the misunderstanding. If the cruise line is taking video material they want to publish (like use it in a video about a christening) they need your consent and then you will find a note in the daily program telling you that throughout the cruise video material is taken and if you don't want to be in the final product you should let them know. When they only use the material for a Cruise video shown onboard and for your private memory then they don't need to ask you. That's private use and no commercial use. The influencers/content creators are publishing their material and therefore it's no private use anymore but commercial (which doesn't mean you have to earn money with it - it's sufficent that you publish it in a way everyone can watch it). steamboats
