  1. Cruise Hive is also mentioning Meyer Werft plus ships buildt there... which is not correct according to the statement by Meyer Werft. steamboats
  2. The FT article has been updated with the Meyer Werft statement. They said that they didn´t use the two types of panels which now lost their certificates. Regarding the fact that the certificates were issued in 2020 Wonder of the Seas might have those panels as well as all Celebrity Apex and Celebrity Beyond. Of course that´s pure speculation. Paroc has only released the names MSC Euribia and Explora I plus that 45 vessels in operation are affected (which can be also ferries, cargo vessels or private yachts...). steamboats
  3. Even guided tours do use the ferry over to Capri... It depends on the duration of your stay in Naples. You can easily go over to Capri by ferry and get a taxi there for a guided tour. steamboats
  4. But is not correct... This article lists a lot of ships which may be affected including shipy buildt by Meyer Werft/Meyer Turku. Meyer stated that they haven´t used the affected type of panels. steamboats
  5. There´s no indication in the article that it was an older already recertified model. If any of the two models was used before 2020 I´m pretty sure that the number of affected vessels (45) would be much higher. steamboats
  6. This is not disclosed in the FT article. In the meantime the article has been updated and they added the sentance: "Meyer Werft said none of their ships were affected." steamboats
  7. Do you have a list of all 45 affected vessels? Just because the Paroc website does mention ships their products are buildt in such a list does not mean that all those ships have buildt in the affected panels. I never said that Meyer does not use Paroc products. They did not use the two affected ones. That's the official statement by Meyer. steamboats
  8. Paroc is in business for 30 years or so. Of course they manufactured panels before 2020. But the affected one is a newer one. The FT article is talking about two different types which are affected. Not all products of Paroc are affected. steamboats
  9. That´s the official statement by Meyer. They did not use this specific kind of panel on their newbuildts. They are using poducts by Paroc but not the one which lost their certificate. steamboats
  10. Oasis was buildt by STX Finland (now Meyer Turku) and in 2009. The affected panels have been certified since 2020. Therefore also the Adventure of the Seas is not affected. steamboats
  11. It's not just cruise ships but also other type of ships (ferries, cargo vessels...). Meyer has not used this type of panels. steamboats
  12. Nope, but I also wouldn´t say that Viking is upscale. For German/European river cruise lines there´s a different concept. No drinks included (except for VIVA or A-Rosa when you book the Premium fare), no excursions included... steamboats
  13. As the inaugural is not yet officially cancelled the change on the Southampton website is totally correct. steamboats
  14. Someone checked the port websites. While the Explora I was still mentioned in Zeebrugge two days ago for July 18th she´s gone from the list now. Same for Bergen and July 29th. This may be a sign. steamboats
  15. Looking at the cabin photos I don´t think they have time enough to refurb the ship between Sep 22nd and Oct 31st. The cabins are completely different to those of AIDA. steamboats
  16. The Amadeus Silver III is built in 2016 - see here. steamboats
  17. To make it more confusing... When AMAWaterways started out they chartered river cruise ships from Lueftner which were by then already named "Amadeus...". Hence the name Amadeus Waterways. Then AMAWaterways started to build their own ships and had to change the company name from Amadeus Waterways to AMAWaterways. BTW Amadeus by Lueftner is multi-lingual. They also have brand new ships like the Amadeus Riva which entered service this spring. steamboats
  18. The ship is absolutely great. MSC enhanced the entertainment both in the theater and with the new Big Band in the Carousel Lounge. The new restaurant Le Grill is sort of a combination of The Butcher´s Cut and the L´Atelier Bistrot. Food was definitely worth the upcharge. I can´t say much about our cruise as this was a special cruise for the naming ceremony. steamboats
  19. A tour which ends at the cruise port won´t allow you to take your luggage. Those tours are geared for people who stay on for the next cruise. steamboats
  20. River cruises - also in Europe - are low key on entertainment. As on the Upper Miss the scenery is the main entertainment. But no good food or no choice would be a bummer for me too! steamboats
  21. The Icon doesn´t get their plants for Central Park until the ship is in the US. O.k., the Icon is being handed over in October, so it might be too cold in Finland anyway. But, it might be the same with Utopia - that she gets the plants in the US (although other Oasis Class ships did get them in Saint-Nazaire). So I definitely wouldn´t count on Southampton cruises. steamboats
  22. It's German 😉 - that's why I said "photos". But usually Google translate works pretty well for a translation of my text. Anyway I think the photos should do it. steamboats
  23. @Rainbow3fe you can see photos of Privée onboard Vista here. Odyssey and the Dom Perignon Experience are two multi course dinners with a wine pairing (for an extra fee and not included in your cruise fare). Onboard Riviera and Marina La Reserve is an extra room with an open kitchen. You can see photos here including photos of the menu. We did the La Reserve Odyssey menu onboard Marina (photos can be seen here when you scroll down). Onboard Marina/Riviera Privée was used as private dining room which can be booked by groups (but you have to spend a certain amount). Onboard Vista Privée is now used for the two La Reserve dinners. You might be able to book them online in advance. They are not held every night and book out fast. You will find some more information on the Oceania website. steamboats
  24. I think I may have this secret wine list published 🤣 in my review. Actually I knew that Ember has some special cocktails you don´t get anywhere else and I wanted to have the Tennessee Nights so I asked for those specialty cocktails and got the extra menu. steamboats
