  1. Except they immediate commented that things may push the dates back.
  2. Not a big deal. They are each starting with an 8 - 10 hour headstart.
  3. And then they hedge that things may happen to extend that time line.
  4. If the depth is constrained by damaged steel beams, I would want a fudge factor. A bit different running into the jagged end of an I-beam and a mud bottom. 😄
  5. Antigua used to have a Consular Agency. These are small offices that provide certain services, normally to American Expats living in that country. Things like accepting passport applications (like the post office in the US), and notarizing documents. They are not consulates, and do not issue passports or visas, etc.
  6. NOT true. There is an Embassy in most every country that the US has diplomatic relations with. Which is most of them, and probably any that you would cruise to. Each Embassy has a Consular section that can help you. The US Embassy is in the capitol city of the country. In addition, there are Consulates in some cities, such as in Mexico. The Embassy is in Mexico City, but there are Consulates in Tijuana, Nogales, Hermosillo, etc. They also provide consular services, such as emergency passports. There are a few countries, such as Sao Tome and Principal, that only has a office. Our interests are represented by the Embassy in Libreville, Gabon. There are not countries with a Consulate and not an Embassy.
  7. Actually they say port of embarkation or your home. So they could put local to Norfolk people in cabs to their home and leave it up to then to deal with their car in Baltimore.
  8. Maybe they changed. But back in the 70s, the ban was only for the approaches, not the actual tunnels. But you can't to the tunnel without driving on the approaches.
  9. Also, ports are also not guaranteed. And reading the CC contract, they ONLY thing that is guaranteed is that they will get you back to the port you left from. As they are now doing with the passengers who embarked in Baltimore but can't get back into port. They can change the embarkation port without compensation also. And without providing transport from original port to the new one.
  10. There is a US Consulate in Lagos. Sao Tome and Principal are more off the coast of Gabon. The article tried to blame them not having credits cards on NCL. REALLY?? Supposedly the tour operator called "the Captain" to inform them that they would be late. Want to take bets on that having actually happened. Time is different in Africa. African Time. It is like Manana time, but without the sense of urgency. Now means something totally different there.
  11. What airline does this? I travel a lot internationally and have never seen this. They go by the country requirements. I have heard of a couple cruise lines that enforce a 6 month validity.
  12. Sorry, yes, free data. They used to only guarantee 2G speed, but lately have upped that and added the 5GB of high speed data in many markets. But it is amazing the places where there is higher speed data.
  13. So many people do NOT look things up. And rely on misunderstandings and partial information from people who don't know that they don't know.
  14. Which is somewhat misleading as most Europeans can drive to lunch in another country. 😄
  15. Be advised, the bottle is only 375 ml, so 1/2 a normal bottle.
  16. It depends. I have seen several bars where the tips are put in a bucket, so shared by the whole bar staff. Not sure if the share on for the staff of that bar or all the bars are also pooled.
  17. Read the signs carefully. The prohibition is against them on the APPROACHES. It had to do with some underhanded things in the old days and protecting some businesses of some "friends" of the MD state government.
  18. Yes, but reducing the size of the debris UNDER WATER is not trivial.
  19. There is a BIG difference between no sympathy and enjoyment. Get real
  20. I never said it made sense. And agree with your points. But there ARE two different systems (three if you add the Passport Card). And people will always be confused.
  21. Which is what some of us have said from the beginning.
  22. My T-mobile plans gives unlimited wifi and texts and 25 cents per minute for calls in over 210 countries, plus each month my first 5 GB of data is high speed each month
  23. Heck, they make more that a hard job back home to stand and fill cones. A win win for them
