  1. In our next post we will have the Grammar Police out in force to correct all the "whether we wear shorts to dinner or not is up to my wife and I" and other grammatical errors that seem to be getting out of control. Rules are rules!
  2. So I take it you took off your suit jacket and tie and put on your tie dye Grateful Dead t-shirt?
  3. I have no one to blame but myself for reading this entire thread and then wondering what else I could've done with those five minutes. Needles under my fingernails lost out, barely.
  4. It's about time they brought back shuffleboard.
  5. Don't get me started on the rake the casino takes at the poker game.
  6. $25 minimum on craps? Was that all the time or were there times they lowered it to $10? No way I'm gonna play $25 minimum.
  7. Gotta say this one made me laugh out loud. I'm a trivia guy and I always suspected some people just feel the need to look at their phones. But what do I know? I'm also suspicious of people cheating at Wordle.
  8. That's some great David Carradine "I am Caine" stuff.
  9. Uh oh. Gonna be on the Reflection for 24 days in October and I don't want no limp ****.
  10. It's funny what means something to someone. I gotta admit I'm negatively affected by the sad state of burgers and hot dogs at the Mast Grille. Does it mean I won't cruise Celebrity? Of course not, but I enjoy hanging by the pool during sea days and a good burger/dog with fries would be a perfect casual lunch to satisfy me till a more formal dinner. Unfortunately, I've been underwhelmed by the burgers for some time (don't get me started on the dogs-they're practically inedible) and the photo from this thread looks like they've gotten even worse. As for the pizza at the OVC, as a born and bred New Yorker my standards are pretty high and I gotta say the crispy thin crust at OVC is very tasty, especially fresh out of the oven. I'm very chill when I cruise and like to think I don't sweat the small stuff but since there's a thread devoted to the Mast I figured I'd put my 2 cents in. That being said, it's only 139 days and 23 hours until my next cruise, but who's counting? Good burger or not, cruising is my happy place and Celebrity overall does a wonderful job making me happy.
  11. Different strokes, I guess. I love a good burger and bought Bubba's because their packaging looked cool (yeah, I know) and I gotta say they were not bubbalicious.
  12. As I still work and have to wear a suit to work, the last thing I want to do on vacation is put one on. Strictly slacks and a button down shirt for me.
  13. Have taken a couple of E class cruises with a SV and we absolutely love it.
  14. I absolutely love TAs and my routine is pretty set in stone: Wake up and have a light Oceanview breakfast. Sit by the pool and read as many books as I can, and sometimes listen to my music. Go play trivia at least once a day. Sometimes play an afternoon poker tournament. Sit on my balcony (if Edge Class hopefully a SV as I'm not a fan of the UVs). Dinner, show, poker and/or craps. Bed. Rinse and repeat.
  15. Last time I was on was in October on transatlantic and typically table opened after dinner and usually only one side of the table was open. My eyesight isn't what it used to be so I like to be on opposite side of dice thrower so I can see them land clearly so half a table sucks. I ask the stickman to call out the number rolled loud and quick. Crazy game but I love it.
  16. And it's a better way to go through life!
  17. I mostly play poker but sometimes head over to the craps table. I hate being rated because I feel I will subconsciously try to "impress" the pit boss into giving me a comp and I'll maybe raise my bets accordingly. I just stick to my $10 pass line bet with double odds and maybe place a couple of inside numbers. As for them rating me at poker, I know that doesn't happen so it's not an issue.
  18. "Well bless you heart, now the entire restaurant can listen to your music".
  19. We'll be on the Reflection starting October 9 for a ten day Greek Islands cruise followed by 14 day transatlantic starting in Barcelona on October 19 and ending up in Fort Lauderdale.
  20. I was on the Apex in November and they were extremely short handed when it came to craps dealers. It was so bad they usually only opened one side of the table because they only had a boxman, a stickman, and a single dealer. Yes, it was $10 minimum even though many people tried to persuade the casino host to open a $5 game once in a while. He'd smile but politely decline. The same host had no problem lowering the stakes at the poker table from 2/5 NL to 1/2. This was a 14 day transatlantic. Back to craps, we had no trouble getting more than double odds on 6/8. Was allowed to back up $10 pass line bet with $25 every time.
  21. I'm sure they'll do it. As a fellow New Yorker I don't see either our local teams getting there (although of course Buffalo is technically the only real New York team). So, go Bills!
