  1. Speaking of bill posters my favorite is someone wrote across a sign that said Bill Posters Will Be Prosecuted, "Bill Posters is Innocent!"
  2. I've been binge watching Customer Wars and it's awful the way some people treat service workers. The best is when the workers fight back and take care of business. Unfortunately the staff onboard cruise ships are not in a position to do that.
  3. Don't forget the most important requirement: Have a great time!
  4. I even spoke to the boxman and casino host to politely say "Come on, dude" and was met with a smile and a "Not our decision, above our pay grade". No way I'm playing $25 on the pass unless I'm on a hot roll so I mostly stuck with single odds. Very aggravating. And don't get me started on the rake they take on the poker game, it's larcenous.
  5. Butterfly0822 hit it right on the head about the poker table. As for craps there is one table that usually has a $10 minimum. The problem is they only allow double odds or more behind the pass line if you bet at least $25 on the pass. If you play $10 you're only allowed single odds. Gotta pay close attention to the payouts as the dealers are often inexperienced and the boxman might not notice any mistakes.
  6. Amazing how far transparency can go. If only all businesses (including Celebrity) took a lesson from this in how to communicate with their customers. Nice job, Captain Kate.
  7. True story from our cruise back in October on the Reflection: I'm at the pool reading a book by Dylan's girlfriend from the Village. She's describing a trip she took on an ocean liner in 1962 to Italy and she was trying to teach the guitarist on board her boyfriend's new song, Blowing in the Wind. As I'm reading this the guitarist at the pool says he was supposed to play instrumental music be he feels like singing a bit. He starts with Blowing in the Wind.
  8. Right up there with "Bless your heart".
  9. Father Time is undefeated. Waiting patiently.
  10. I'm picturing Jack Nicholson ordering a "rum and coke, hold the rum."
  11. We were on the same transatlantic as you and also loved Angela and Dave. The rest of the activities team were, let's say, underwhelming.
  12. Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?
  13. You sure you're talking about pickleball? I've seen better workouts at the shuffleboard court (which, btw, Celebrity should find room for).
  14. I would put up with a lot for a decent Baked Alaska but I think a waiter carrying it on his head is a State too far.
  15. As a native New Yorker of course I've never been to the Statue of Liberty but we sailed close to it on a cruise a few years ago and all my NY cynicism went out the window and I felt that heart tug.
  16. I like to prepay as much as I can so I don't have to look at a huge bill at he . I know it's psychological but hey, there you have it.
  17. As a Mets fan gotta say this cruise is a hard NO.
  18. At least he didn't rebrand as an upside down pineapple.
  19. Is it just me or did the OP give a somewhat subtle shoutout to Tom Jones and Delilah their title?
  20. I also like to grab a lounge (two, actually) by the pool and put a "reserved for duration of cruise" sign on it. Just kidding, folks!
  21. I just can't justify the rates they charge for a suite. I'm sure the Retreat is wonderful but I just can't seem to pull the trigger on the price tag. It's all individual, of course, and maybe one of these days I'll bite the bullet and splurge. My fear is it'll be like being upgraded to first class-once you experience it it's hard to go back to coach with the hoi polloi. Best to stick with my veranda (SV on Edge Class) and not realize what I'm missing.
