  1. Have seen cases where it is harder to get seat reservations on code shares. Some airlines (like BA) don't like doing seat reservations until late or require extra fees. Not familiar with Air Canada, but you might want to look into their ticketing. Haven't had problems with United but we almost always fly their planes.
  2. No big deal doing this, but your hotel likely has a port shuttle for around $12pp so why would you want to go back to the airport? We've done shuttles and cabs from airport hotels multiple times and it is pretty easy.
  3. Harbor Beach has loungers with umbrellas (in fact most loungers have umbrellas everywhere) but not much shade there. We prefer the area on Chill Beach just beyond the bar because there are a ton of palm trees as well but getting there with wheel chair might be challenging. They do have wheel chairs with large tires available but you need to get off the ship as early as possible to get these. Agree that Harbor Beach has closest access to paved path and there is a buffet between it and the water park that might be a convenient meeting place for you.
  4. I saw several cases of prices being different in cart versus when I booked (after cancelling). Had to check each one before committing to the purchase. That price is terrible for Dolphin Discovery at Chankanaab. You are far better off booking direct, which includes park entry and the ability to stay as long as you like. Just add around $20 each way for a taxi down to the park (which you can likely share with other people going there). The VIP Royal Swim (two dolphins/roman ride) is currently priced at $103.35pp. Note that photos are extra both through cruise line or not and can run $100 or more. https://www.*****cozumel/
  5. They were putting a lot of people on the whale watch boats - maybe 50 people each when we were there in September. Zip line ends at the port where Royal docks. To use it you take the lift to the other port (free) and then a second lift to the top of the hill. They were selling tickets in the port building but doing a zip line in heavy rain would not have been much fun. You can walk along the water to the old cannery building and on some trails. Really only the one shopping building. They were also selling the ATV tour on the day we were there. The whale watch area is near the entrance to Glacier Bay - a major humpback feeding area (although mostly gone by September). We prefer taking private whale watch tours out of Juneau (company called alaskashouretours.com does tours in several ports; our son prefers Harv and Marv). Private tours put fewer people on the boat for the same price or less. We've been on their boats multiple times since company was called Orca Enterprises back in 2006 or so. We usually have 15-20 people on the boat.
  6. Doubt the transfers start as late as noon. More likely 10-10:30 depending on when the first bus arrives from the port. First departure really depends on when they have enough people to fill a bus.
  7. Assuming you bought it online/phone it should be in your order history (pulldown from your login upper right of screen). If part of a booking it might not be cancellable. I have also seen cases where you can't see the items for the other person in your cabin without logging on as them.
  8. Six trips to Alaska, four Princess, two Royal. Princess gets Glacier Bay - a close approach to a 200' high wall. Only saw major calving once, but that was 1/3 size of the ship. Hubbard closest approach is a couple of miles to a seven mile wide glacier. While the smaller Glacier Explorer can take you closer it is EXPENSIVE - $399 on our last cruise. Princess hits Hubbard only on southbound trips and hits Glacier Bay on all trips. Personally we prefer smaller Princess ships (Coral or Island). Indoor swimming pool with glass outer wall where you can sit and watch scenery and stick you head outside for pictures. Radiance also has an indoor pool but not as good seating in that area and harder to get outside. We have done two B2B trips out of Vancouver. Both were great. On Radiance last summer Hubbard was completely fogged in going north but fairly decent view southbound (and Glacier Explorer was cancelled northbound). On Island we hit Glacier Bay three days apart and massive changes to Margerie Glacier. Yes, you can sail roundtrip from Seattle, but a one-way gets more Alaska time. If you can only do one seven day cruise I would do a southbound Princess. Or just acknowledge that one trip isn't enough and plan now for multiple trips, including a couple of cruise-tours.
  9. Just remember that you need to get a Captain's Circle number and request status match before the cruise.
  10. Yup. Refresh the page before buying. Then it goes into shopping cart possibly at different price. Check. Then purchase and get kicked out of Cruise Planner. But purchase is still in cart so don't try buying again - just go back into Planner, then cart and continue. Or get kicked out while confirming purchase and item isn't in cart because purchase actually went through. So check Order History before trying to buy again.... Been a tough couple of days trying to buy stuff.
  11. If you ordered download/email or email onboard the above link will show your photos for all cruises. These show up even when the download period is past. Can be a weird site to use - each cruise is a different folder and when you click on it you can see all the photos but only what you bought will be unlocked. Then you have to click on it and request the download. Usually takes me a few tries with Chrome to actually download a picture. Have had several times where never got email but pictures were there.
  12. I'm picturing a Carnival ship coming up next to a Royal ship and selling over the rail......
  13. Soda package price has been $8.99 for over six months on any cruise using the new version of the Cruise Planner. Unless you are leaving in the next couple of days it is worth waiting to see if there is a sale price.
  14. Rather unlikely one would ever have to fly from Canada - the only possible Canada stops are in Victoria or Vancouver for a Seattle roundtrip cruise and these would be land crossings. Rules are pretty simple. A birth certificate and picture ID for sailings that are roundtrip from USA (Seattle or San Francisco). Passport for any one-way sailings.
  15. We've never had cash go back on an account on a Royal ship (at least 10 years). Ticket is always for the full amount on the machine. We do room charges quite often on slots in the casino and have never been charged either a fee or had a warning about it being OBC. OBC gets credited against the cruise ship account and the casino doesn't even know if you are taking out OBC or money you will eventually pay with a credit card.
  16. Not sure 6 will work but generally if they don't have seating in the MTD room they walk you to another floor. That time may not work because most of the ships have gone to an early-early fixed seating in the Mytime room. This means they don't get done eating until 6:45 or so and there may not be any seats open. Even with 6:30 reservations the ships have been running Mytime starting at 6:45 and we have had to wait for seats to open. Two lines at the entrance. Normally the left one is reservations, right is no reservations.
  17. You can see both glass and bottle prices if you look up any bar or the dining room on the app.
  18. Or buy one device and share that. Generally when the second person tries to log on it kicks the first one off.
  19. You can do it onboard but subject to availability of new time/restaurant.
  20. Last B2B we had to either show up in the lounge and wait for processing or go down to Guest Services before. At Guest Services we were asked the questions and told that app didn't do the questions for B2B (Symphony). Note that for all of our B2B the second cruise had to be selected with the "Select a Different Cruise" button. Have never seen two cruises appear simultaneously as if they were one. Did a lot of switching back and forth during the first cruise.
  21. Last time we sailed out of Galveston there were no rental car companies for returns on the island. Nearest place was a Sears store maybe 10 miles inland and it wasn't open on Sundays. We've used Galveston Express for a trip from the airport to a hotel near the pier the day before our cruise. Hobby (mostly Southwest) is around 45 minutes from the port area and Bush is around 70 minutes with no traffic. Best info is on the Gulf Departures board: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/316-gulf-coast-departures/ The cruise line shuttle people were actively seeking people without reservations in the baggage area at Hobby. We already had a van reserved. You can book the return trip to the airport onboard if you want to do that.
  22. Yup. Problem on last 4 Royal cruises has been mostly first night right at opening (6:45). The early fixed seating isn't out until around then and lots of folks show up without reservations. Takes a while for the dining room to clear and the people with early reservations may still have a wait. After first night the dining room hosts would come out and check the line (especially non-reservation) to see if people were willing to sit now on another floor. They did reservation line as well but lots of those folks wanted to sit at the same table. Those that didn't were accommodated as well. Did see some lines around 7:30 as well because the 6:45 people had filled the dining room and there was no space then. Same deal - they took lots up to the other floors.
