  1. Our friends who are Pinns didn't get it so not sure how it was given out. We just got a card in our room but we didn't go. We've done some in the past but my knee doesn't love doing something like that. I did see suite guests going to a bridge tour. You can always tell those as security is there with a wand. We were on deck 10 which is the bridge level and that's where they were gathered.
  2. Everyone had the option of "filet" on Jewel. Although, they're really not filets. They're more like tenderloin.. A real filet you can eat the entire thing without running into any fat or connective tissue. Not true for tenderloin. Filet is a more expensive cut than tenderloin. We actually had surf and turf (shrimp) offered for ours. I'm allergic to shrimp so I ordered it without the shrimp. So, it varies by ship mainly due to what the Hotel Director wants to spend.
  3. True, there are things that aren't necessarily listed as well as things at 340 and 525 points. On Jewel a few weeks ago for example we were offered a free galley tour. We had our Cheers with an officer and our three gifts (wine),
  4. We sold our big colonial house this past spring after we bought the house we're currently in (still a large home so we didn't give up a lot) in a 55+ community so we no longer have a mortgage. I retired in 2020 and DH retires in about three weeks. I'm 63 and he's 66 s we want to travel while we can. We did 4 cruises this year (2 b2b's) and we're doing 6 (3 b2b's) in 2024. Our CFP has been told how much money we require to maintain our current lifestyle.
  5. Well, we have spent a lot of money on cruising over the last 18 years. On Jewel Oct 20-Nov 9 b2b), there were several Pinns with over 2400 pts. As I've always said, we haven't "earned" anything. We bought every single point.
  6. Our friends only wear them to events for upper tiers. I have never seen a crew member give less service to someone because a Pinnacle was there. Reality is, Pinnacles don't tip any better than anyone else and that's what the crew is looking for. What we're looking forward to is the free internet lol. Only 93 more points.
  7. You do you. That's what it's really all about.
  8. I've seen a couple of FB posts where some decorating has already started as of a couple of days ago. Our experience though is the day after Thanksgiving is when they start. They mostly work overnight.
  9. That's actually our plan when we hit P in spring 2025. We're at 607 pts right now. We'll mix in Royal, but will try out other ships from other lines also.
  10. I was on the b2b sailing to QC and back. D was not "locked out" completely. They had access all but 5-8 pm. 430-5 they were allowed in for appetizers. Also, all but the top 20 Pinnacles were blocked from the CL. It was an unusual sailing as there were so many D and above onboard due to it being a somewhat unique sailing. Something like 1/2 the ship was D and above. Also, the Crown Lounge sign was put up a few days into the 20 Oct sailing.
  11. Okay. When we started cruising Royal we always stayed in GS but that was before Oasis class. Now, JS only and we're D+ so we have other perks. I just haven't really paid attention to the "perks" for GS and above.
  12. Also, people forget, while you are "renting" the room for the cruise, it still belongs to the cruise line. Your personal items are yours, but the furnishings, etc belong to Royal. The only reason they notify people about window/balcony cleaning is because they're trying to protect your personal belongings, not because they need your permission. We had our sink faucet replaced on Jewel a couple of weeks ago because the steward turned it in for dripping. We weren't there nor were we "warned" they were coming in. They did the maintenance that the steward requested. BTW, we didn't really notice the drip as it wasn't making any noise.
  13. They don't always know when replacement will happen. It's when there is time/manpower to do so. The fact your steward was with them as he has access to your room should have made you more comfortable. As for "why" they replace when they do, it's a maintenance schedule they follow and what they're doing is removing them, reupholstering or deep cleaning them and putting them in a cabin so you don't go without a sofa. It's not like they have down time between cruises. I also don't get why you were so upset that you had to complain. It's not like a single individual was in your cabin going through your things. Hotels do the same thing sometimes.
  14. No, not everyone will eventually have that happen.
  15. Last month on Jewel out of Bayonne ours was 1130 which was supposedly the earliest time. We arrived about 1030 and were onboard by 1045. We basically walked on. The only wait was behind people who had no clue how to go through security. We go earlier than our time because we're in a JS and we can arrive earlier than our check in time. Jewel is a smaller ship and I didn't hear of anyone really having to wait.
  16. Because they also use it to get people to a location where they are away from any issue. It does not mean abandon ship by a long shot. Muster stations are gathering points. You do realize a lot, especially on larger ships are in public spaces away from lifeboats, right? It's a way to get a good headcount also. Abandoning ship is always the very last thing that would be done.
  17. Who said it was a charter? These 3 cruises are advertised basically as a group cruise. The demand exists because it was created for specific cruises.
  18. No one said that at all. What has been said is historically the kids behavior has been not good and a food venue is being denied to everyone else. You are really reaching.
  19. Personal experience. Yours may vary. But, you can google it. And, I'm talking in the US as we're talking a cruise out of the US. It's like asking how many catholics are practicing? You'll get a lot more that identify than actually attend more than Christmas and Easter.
  20. For anyone who knew this existed. I had never heard of it until this thread and we booked months ago. Just saying, not everyone knows every single holiday that exists nor that this is what and when it happens.
  21. Google won't save my pw for Royals' site. Not sure why but it's a PITA.
