  1. Show up whenever you want. If you get there early enough, you can be among the first to board. The time assigned doesn't really matter to Yacht Club guests.
  2. I know. I was commenting that your balcony was much larger than the typical side balcony on BA/GA. For a first cruise, you had a great balcony on BA/GA.
  3. The vast majority of side balconies on Breakaway/Getaway are this size. 😳
  4. I sail both and enjoy both. It isn't an "either or" situation. We travel as 4 so interior is never an option and even if it was, I never sail without a balcony. Never have, never will. The MSC dress code is more "suggestion" than "law". You will find men wearing shorts for dinner in the Yacht Club restaurant. It's especially more common on Caribbean sailings. However, there have been times when men wearing shorts have been told to leave and come back when wearing long pants. The Yacht Club menus are shown in pinned threads HERE but they do change slightly from time to time and from ship to ship. Some things are better with Yacht Club. Some things are better with Haven. Neither is perfect.
  5. When it comes to upgrades, don't be a Spalding.... Seriously, the OP booked something, agreed to that something, and is getting that exact same something. Having a balcony upgrade dangled in front of them and taken away doesn't change the original something. Enjoy the cruise as you had originally planned on the day that you booked.
  6. I understand that many people dislike Miami for a multitude of reasons such as traffic, construction that never ends, chaos, etc. but with so many new terminals being built, different lines sharing space, and so many people coming in and out, I let it slide. For me, getting to POM is worst than the actual port.
  7. That's exactly what some people do. Non-cruisers might actually believe that those models are special. I buy them just to add to the collection....using OBC, usually. 😉
  8. The OP's stateroom includes a pergola on the sundeck. The OP can choose WHICH pergola that he wants. Some guests who can choose a pergola will pick one on the opposite side of their balcony. Some will choose a pergola near the bar. Some will choose a pergola that is near the hot tub, etc. The OP is not being rude at all by selecting a pergola for the week. Some people prefer the "first come, first serve" pergolas for the non-RS/OS Yacht Club guests. Some people prefer the "pay to rent" pergolas that used to be for the non-RS/OS Yacht Club guests. Either way, the Royal Suite gets a cabana/pergola on the ship.
  9. About $30 used to be the price but current prices are about $60. There is sometimes a deal with buying a backpack or hat with the ship that saves some money vs. buying the items individually. If you really want to see high prices for these models, look at what people are asking on eBay.
  10. Have you considered the M6 (Club Balcony Suite with Large Balcony) on deck 8? You would still need to buy Spa access but you'd have the large balcony, larger shower/double sink, staterooms above, and Club Balcony amenities (not great but still...). You would lose some balcony privacy since most of the balcony is visible from above but some of it is covered. You'd also have a great view down to the water.
  11. Some wristbands say "Yacht Club" and some say "MSC". However, even when staying in the Yacht Club, I've received wristbands that just had "MSC" on them. It's the same with the slippers. It can be either way even if you are in the Yacht Club.
  12. In my case, what worked for me was the concierge's ability to kick out the people (TAs, typical guests, whatever) who had put a hold on a suite that I wanted for a holiday cruise. It's common for people to put a hold on something without actually putting down a deposit and completing the reservation/booking for holiday cruises. TAs are known to hold suites "just in case" one of their favored clientele decides to book a cruise for a holiday like Christmas, New Year's, etc. The holds were there for several days (I tried to book by myself as I usually do) but nobody had actually completed the booking. The concierge could see that the suite wasn't actually booked but was just being held. The concierge wiped out the holds and took my deposit within minutes and I'm now booked. 👍
  13. You can wait and book on the ship if you prefer.... WHERE CAN I PURCHASE A SPECIALTY DINING PACKAGE? Online in our "Dining" section at ncl.com/myncl or through Norwegian Reservations at 1-866-234-7350. Once onboard you may also purchase it on the first two days of your cruise by calling or visiting any Restaurant Reservations Desk. For three and four-day cruises, this package may only be purchased on the first day of your cruise.
  14. My experience with the concierge service has been completely different. So far, no complaints from me.
  15. Looking at old posts that quoted the FAQ, the "No sharing or to go orders permitted." was somehow squeezed in there between the "... four menu items..." part and the "...does not include beverages..." part. I hadn't noticed the change until I saw this thread.
  16. I'll be on World America....in 2 years....😔 Any info/pictures/video of the Yacht Club areas would be very much appreciated.
  17. For soda, it can be just 1 with and others without. In the OP's case, if the grandparents are guests 1&2, the 12 year-old doesn't get anything with the Free at Sea. If the 12 year-old was 22, he would get the PBP automatically if the grandparents took the PBP. If an adult buys the PBP, all of the other adults would have to buy the same. For soda packages, no one is forced into buying in order to match others.
  18. Meraviglia/Meraviglia Plus ships are more alike than different. Looking at renderings and photos, I can spot some differences but nothing that I would call mind-blowing. World Europa/World America would be more different since the World Class is MSC's newest class not counting Explora Journeys.
  19. To leave the ship, the card is needed.
  20. I've had an OC Yacht Club cabana 3 out of 4 times. The one time that I didn't get one was because they sold out weeks before sail date (lesson learned). We're a family of 4 so my situation is a bit different. The extra space is great for lounging, sleeping, eating, etc. The butler service has been great with food and drink delivery. Even the surprises like the fruit skewers and prosecco in the cooler are a nice touch. Yeah, it is a bit of a money grab by MSC and those cabanas have probably paid for themselves 100x over but I'll continue to book one. I know which number to request and we always get the same one.
  21. Not included for Yacht Club guests.
  22. In most cases, the elevator will show "Priority Service" or won't light up when summoned by a Yacht Club card. If someone who isn't Yacht Club gets in, they shouldn't get annoyed if the elevator doesn't go where they want it to go.
