  1. We were on Adventure in March. I was worried after sailing on Ovation and 3 Disney ships, that it would be boring. We are pretty easy going as well. We found that we loved Adventure! We went on Allure in May, and while we did truly enjoy the Oasis class ship.... we are still considering Voyager for one of our next cruises to book.
  2. I was just able to do our check in on the app too. Crossing my fingers as I try to website again lol!
  3. I'm curious to what the responses will be... we are on Serenade next month.
  4. Wow. certainly seems much worse than I thought! Plan B was to look at our cruise planner for our Alaska cruise next month. Plan C was to finish adding our check in documents for Alaska. Looks like clean the house for the win! 😆
  5. That sounds stressful... hope it's fixed soon!
  6. Well that was going to be my next try, so I guess I won't even bother 🤣
  7. That's terrible! At least no one else is booking your cruise either... hope it all works out for you!
  8. Thanks everyone... I feel better knowing it's not just me... guess I've got to do something besides pick another cruise! Royal better watch out, I just might start looking at other cruise lines lol!
  9. The Royal website has been so glitchy for me for days now. But today, every time I try to look at cruises in 2024, I get as far as selecting the cruise date for the itinerary/ship I am looking at, and it gives me an Oops message. I tried it on my phone, same thing. Hubby tried it on his phone... same thing. What the heck?
  10. If we are in a suite, and our friends aren't, but our reservations are linked...can the concierge make reservations before the cruise for the four of us, so we can eat together?
  11. We had one of those over the water cabanas at the beach club last month. We were looking forward to it so much! The weather on our cruise had been beautiful throughout our entire cruise. Coco Cay was our last day. Wouldn't you know, we got about an hour and a half before the gloomy gray weather turned ugly. It rained like crazy, the rain was pouring through the cabana sideways. We were soaked, and freezing. I actually hid out in our shower room with our daughter just to get out of the rain for a few minutes towards the end. It lasted a long time... and when it stopped we had a couple hours of okay weather... not much sunshine and a little cool. The cabana was very nice, and I got a great price for it. But after that experience, I think I'd rather just do the price to enjoy the beach club and skip the cabana in the future.
  12. Thank you for your review of Enchantment! This was our honeymoon cruise in 1999. Since, we have sailed on Disney, and most recently Ovation, Adventure, and Allure. We will be on Serenade next month. I have been wondering if we should consider another cruise on Enchantment, but was worried that we wouldn't enjoy it. Your review reminded me that I shouldn't rule out a ship because it is older... I think I would enjoy Enchantment again!
  13. Prepaying gratuities for UDP or beverage packages does not equate to actually tipping your servers. If you got a good deal for your package, you paid a lot less in tips than what you would normally tip. For example, if you purchased the UDP for $150, you paid $27 for tips. That $27 didn't go directly to the servers in the restaurants where you chose to dine. It is pooled among many. For me, if my husband and I eat at 6 restaurants with that UDP, then that would average out to $4.50 per server. I choose to tip more, especially when the service is great.
  14. We were on Ovation to Alaska at the end of June/beginning of July in 2019. Some ports we had warm, sunny weather during the day, maybe in the 70's. But on the water, at night? It got down right cold! I ended up buying flannel pajama bottoms and cabin socks to wear on the balcony in the evenings/early mornings. We wore sweatshirts/jackets/layers a lot. Make sure to have a raincoat and extra or waterproof shoes too.
  15. We did too! After our Alaska cruise in July, we will be Diamond too 😊
  16. We got an over the water cabana on our May 8 Allure cruise for a bargain price of $1049. I'm glad we didn't pay more, since the weather was not nice the day we were there. It was still nice, though, for a special day! I would never pay $3000 for it, but if I could split the cost between a couple families, I would do it.
  17. It is very easy. Don't open the test until the online proctor tells you to. The hardest part of the procedure will be when they ask you to angle your camera so they can see the test, and you will have a hard time seeing the directions on your screen. I recommend using a laptop, and elevating the laptop a bit off the table so that you can still view it if you need to. This might help. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/02/22/what-its-like-to-self-test-for-covid-when-flying-home-from-abroad.html
  18. We just did UDP on Allure a couple weeks ago. We enjoyed the experience in the restaurants as well as the food. The service was great and the food was also. We ate in Sabor, Giovanni's twice, Izumi Hibachi, Izumi Sushi, 150 Central Park. We also ate at Coastal Kitchen for dinner once. Never ate in the MDR and didn't regret that decision at all. We won't be doing the UDP on our next cruise, because we will be on Serenade and there aren't a lot of specialty options. Plus we will eat dinner in the ports at least twice. But on future cruises with a good number of options, I will definitely do UDP again!
  19. @twangster Thank you so much for your excellent review! As always, your pictures and videos are incredible! We will be doing this exact same itinerary with a group of 9 spread across 4 cabins. One cabin has 2 large windows at the front of the ship, and the other 3 are across deck 9 aft. I have the same cabin you were in, 9256. I am really looking forward to that aft view! Thanks for getting us a new tv, too 😉. We are actually flying in to Seattle and plan to take the Amtrak bus/train back and forth to Vancouver. After reading your review, I am glad we decided to go this route. Thanks for the glimpse of taking the bus back to Vancouver. Two questions for you... how did you book your Blackbird Hovercraft excursion? Was it through the ship, or independently? Also, was entertainment and venue offerings at 100% on Serenade? Thanks again for your wonderful review!
  20. Updated Mask Policy for Royal Caribbean Sailings As you know, our protocols are fluid and subject to change. We proactively review all of our requirements to meet the guidance of various government and health authorities to ensure the health and safety of our guests and crew. Due to recent changes in mask guidance, we’ve updated our mask policy, effective immediately, for all of our sailings where we've announced protocols, excluding Singapore departures. Updated Mask Policy Masks are optional for vaccinated guests and recommended for unvaccinated children while onboard. In our terminals, masks are optional unless required by local regulation. Some destinations we visit may require masks. Guests under 2 years old don’t need to wear a mask. These protocols are subject to change. Thank you for your continued understanding as we work diligently to provide you with the very best cruise experience. We look forward to seeing you onboard soon!
