  1. Purely subjective, and hope you get opinions that help you determine what's best for you. Bottom line: The price will fluctuate as necessary for the cruise line bean counters to know it's 'worth it'.
  2. That’s awesome. For our upcoming cruise (Symphony), we were notified 17 days prior (OB to CL)…pretty excited. If we ever cross paths, I’ll buy ya a drink and we’ll chat airplanes.
  3. Room for improvement there...our arrangement is exactly opposite. 😂
  4. You now have several answers that are potentially correct. Only one we can assume that's correct - electronically.
  5. For us, we received one 17 days prior and one 3 days prior. Some have received them as late as after sail away. Nobody knows.
  6. Agree for the most part. We did get a 2BR GS in AK, and have a CL coming up. We initially book the cat/cabin we desire, and if we upgrade at a price we’re happy w/, great. If not, that’s great too.
  7. Guess that’s how they get the thread count so high. Tried to scroll past them….gave up after 25 min.
  8. Vax vs. unvax is completely irrelevant (other than making us that got vaxxed look like snobs).
  9. You were part of the 98.4% that avoided it onboard.
  10. That’s an outstanding %. Wish it was that low everywhere away from cruising.
  11. It was also a D+ perk prior to covid….sure wish it’d come back.
  12. Wow…actually giving back a portion of what they make on a slow day.
  13. If that % is accurate, cruising is the safest place to be. Let’s hope word doesn’t spread or we can say goodbye to ships ever sailing at less than capacity.
  14. Indeed, as it’s a blind/silent auction. I always chuckle at (and appreciate) those willing to state what they bid…helps when you’re hoping to outbid them. We got our RoyalUp to a CL a couple days ago, and bid what we’re happily willing to pay. We never go into it ‘expecting’ an upgrade….we book what we want initially and hope for the best w/ bidding up.
  15. Good to know for anyone sailing from there. For our 10 Fl cruises since restart, (PC, PE, Mia, Tpa) we were never questioned on ‘assigned check-in time’ (although have heard of some getting asked).
  16. One could argue they chose to simply lower the odds to agree with the less-than-favorable payouts lol.
  17. Really enjoyed and appreciated your review. We will be in the same cabin on Symphony in a couple weeks….our first in a CL. We can’t wait.
  18. Perfect. Hope they're all going to 'optional'. Staff have been treated like 2nd class citizens for long enough....last I heard they're all adults fully capable of making their own choices.
  19. Wow...that's awesome. We just RoyalUP's to CL on Symphony (from OVB)...first time in this type of suite, and can't wait. And the beauty for us is NO genie!
  20. I agree with you! Love it, knock yourself out, you win, BIG Big winner, etc etc....we don't care! Sorry if you're looking for an argument....keep looking elsewhere. Wear it anywhere...wear it everywhere. Choice is yours...follow the approved protocols, or don't sail...that simple.
  21. For sure. But unlike when the tables were turned, you're not judged.
  22. Don't quite buy it....Carnival has a bacon crisis, but the other lines we have been on since the restart (7 cruises thus far away from Carnival) had plenty to spare. Cost cutting? Perhaps. Crisis? Only if they have inadequate suppliers.
