  1. Ship excursions have priority for the first tender. First tender on day 2 is often at 8:30 AM. So .... it comes down to how full the ship is. I always tell my private tours that I'll be on the first or second tender but I could be arriving around 9:00 AM.
  2. Yes I received the link as well ... hopefully it is now bookable.
  3. I've been told fall of 2023 ... will be a 3 star property. Will be convenient but it won't be cheap.
  4. That is in the eye of the beholder ... There is no major chain hotel close by, the closest being the Hilton about a 20 minute walk. There are some smaller places that are clean and reasonable such as Fare Suisse. The ferry terminal is 150 yards from the ship
  5. The walk to the port is a nice walkway that runs through some cultural stuff that is interesting. It is a safe area to walk in. The walk to the airport doesn't have a walkway and you might be close to cars on the road in some areas. Not an area I would do after dark.
  6. The ship is French owned, the officers are French and the local host are French speaking as the primary language. I would expect there to be a bit more 'freedom' for all of them when speaking to the French ... It can be noticeable but not intentional ... I've also noticed over the years that if you make an effort to speak a bit of French they open up to you ... just saying
  7. Interestingly I was told it was $25 ... and it was meant for those having issues with their flight times to have a test in the allotted time. If your their with plenty of time to go the ILM lab or a pharmacy they expected you to do so. Just saying what I've been told ... believe me I have it in writing and I will bring a copy of such.
  8. Whenever I get a answer contrary to what is written I ask for a email stating so ... then I make sure I bring it. Technically the answer is 72 hours, it's on their web page ... but often the person checking is looking at the date test taken not counting the hours ...
  9. "Best" .... that can mean all sorts of things. Best price? Best cars? Best customer service? The PPT Hertz is a very short walk from the Hilton. Most of the car rental companies will pick you up and take you to their closet office 😉
  10. Nowhere .... Never seen Woodford ... I mean it is a smaller distillery 😉
  11. That is an open-ended question. What do you want to buy? Are you doing any private excursions? Are you going to eat at the food trucks? You will usually get a better deal by paying in local currency. If you use USD most places will simply give you 100/1 ration when today it is closer to 115/1. No difference when paying by CC but many of the smaller vendors don't take CC. PG will allow you to get some local currency on-board at a reasonable exchange rate but don't expect large amounts to be exchanged or charged to your room.
  12. That is what I thought plus one of the rear cabins on deck 7 but wasn't absolutely sure ... glad you found out 🙂
  13. I would suggest you simply call PG and ask ...
  14. Don't take the bait via email as they will send you a opportunity to bid ... the starting bid is always way more than you can get at the counter if room is available. As mentioned ... make sure your there early.
  15. Many people book deck 3 as it is the least amount of money. Some are gambling that a lower price upgrade will happen 30 days prior to embarkation. The PG fills the top cabins and the bottom cabins first .... Deck 6 & 7 are usually the last to fill 😉
  16. I've booked many times with Avis and Alberts .... Avis has newer cars and in better condition. Albert's has the better price. Actually Albert's will take you to their field office which is in front of the old IC Moorea. Note: on my last trip I rented from Albert's. The car was a bit tired. Several idiot lights were red and I took note. No problems but make sure you take a good peek and note everything in front of the rep and have it noted on the paperwork.
  17. We've done it a few times .... not a problem
  18. Some I like ... some I don't. Love the 2-3-2 seating in economy. Loved the old 340-300 ATN flew fir this reason. The early take-off out of LAX is early for those that are driving some distance to get to LAX unless you stay a pre-night in LA. The return time is solid. Love the new 787's ATN and United fly for their windows and ventilation system. LOS ANGELES – TAHITI (PPT) Will operate Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday on the Boeing 767-300ER Begins Dec. 17, 2022 Los Angeles International Airport – Fa'a'ā International Airport Departs LAX at 11:10 a.m. Arrives PPT at 6:10 p.m. Fa'a'ā International Airport - Los Angeles International Airport Departs PPT at 8:10 p.m. Arrives LAX at 6:40 a.m. (next day)
  19. No PG sponsored 'private BBQ' on Bora Bora. They do have excursions with a BBQ and everyone on the outrigger will be on-board the PG but it is more than simply a BBQ on a motu like Tahaa.
  20. \ we are on the same cruise ... saw you posted on the roll call 🙂
  21. Good to hear ... I've been told that PG is going to start allowing booking excursions 60 days out 😉
  22. I been on her 3 times in the last 8 months ... the ship looks fine and most of the crew we've grown fond of are still on-board. Ponant customer service/web page is still working out some bugs. Miss being able to access my account and booking ship excursions.
