  1. They are not leaving them in the cabins. However, all bars have a supply. It was very straightforward to get ours a few weeks ago.
  2. BTW. the Independence is anything but small. It is HUGE! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. It's just not colossal like Oasis class, but no other ships are. Dan
  3. Indy is a great ship. Very easy to navigate with the awesome Royal Promenade inside. Also, it's fun to go to the helipad at night (exit side of deck 4 and take the walking track all the way to the front and up the steps) Sometimes it's closed. I would also recommend leaving earlier, just in case. Maybe 7 am. You miss the ship and your entire vacation is ruined. If you get there early, just get in line early. Since you are eating lunch so late anyway it may be best just to grab a little pizza and finger sandwiches at Sorrento's and Cafe Promenade respectively. Dinner will come quickly and you don't want be stuffed for that nice meal. The bonus is that your room should be ready right away so not much lugging around of luggage. When on board, ask how they are doing the ice shows, if you need to reserve or not. That's the only show I can think of that might need a reservation, otherwise it's first come first serve for shows in the Main Theater. The drivers license and birth certificate will be fine. She's not married with a change to the last name right? (if so she would also need marriage certificate) Pro tip: Each of you should bring your evening dinner wear, and perhaps a bathing suit with you in a carry-on or backpack. Sometimes the luggage that you drop off with the porters doesn't arrive to your room until after dinner. Dan
  4. My goodness this better be an error. We have a "once in a lifetime" cruise on July 10th with 16 extended family members across three generations in 6 balcony cabins. Seeing as this is affecting more than 1 ship, I'm guessing it's an IT error and not panicking yet.
  5. Very kind of you. Thank you. …and happy Easter!
  6. Same for us on the Anthem a couple of weeks ago and I also felt it made a difference versus all our other Royal sailings.
  7. It is a nice quality bag. There is no bottle opener. To be fair, the packages that include this bag are only plastic water bottles or canned beverages.
  8. It’s not on our Quantum to Alaska in July either. I’m hoping that might change after it reposition to Seattle soon.
  9. We got one a couple of weeks ago on the Anthem and were surprised how high quality they are. We opted for the Bud Light version. Don't leak and held our 6 beers and ice as we spent our day at coco cay. Would definitely do it again! Dan
  10. New to Diamond and sorry to hitchhike, but how to you access a free day of Internet on a device? Is it done through the app?
  11. Personally I think it would be a let down. It's an older ship that doesn't have near the bells, whistles and amenities of the Anthem. I also seem to read reviews about the Enchantment being a little more rundown than other Royal ships. (just heresay). If all you want to do is veg by the pool than either may work, but the Enchantment is a huge step down IMO. Just my opinion though. Dan
  12. We are a family of five so normally get two connecting inside cabins. However, we are leaning more towards connecting balconies as pricing permits lately but still have no problems with insides.
  13. My post was not directed at the tribute bands, but more so of the overall show schedule
  14. FWIW here are the shows from the week prior. Should be fairly consistent since the itinerary doesn’t change much out of Bayonne
  15. That’s fantastic! Not sure we’ll ever reach that milestone but here’s hoping. The drink vouchers will be a wonderful supplement to our cruises. Royal is such a good cruise line, with amazing ships, and now it will be even better. Looking forward to the Quantum in July out of Seattle. Happy cruising!
  16. Interestingly one of the leads was sick on our cruise so there were no showings of We Will Rock You unfortunately.
  17. We are also from MI and were on the Anthem the week before you. We also drove for the first time (stayed the night before in Allentown) We would do it all over again. We really have very little to criticize. The staff was great, fellow cruisers were great, food was great, cabins were great (with lots of storage space). The biggest difference was getting on a cruise ship when it's in the 30's outside. I didn't get warm until Port Canaveral, but once we got there it was beautiful warm weather until the last day heading back. So yeah, the itinerary isn't the best, but it got the job done. Loved the indoor spaces, like the solarium, 270, etc... Our biggest tip is try to board asap and book the "extras" like the Northstar and iFly right away. They book up FAST. We were able to do both the first day. It was really cool seeing the NY skyline from the Northstar. To top it off we turned Diamond on the cruise.💎 Woohoo! Happy to hear you had a great time. Dan
  18. Yes just make sure you each have your set sail pass and each tag your bags appropriately. No problem
  19. Bummer to lose a few hours. At least you have the rest of the week to make up for it. Was just on the Anthem last week for the first time and loved it.
  20. We showed up at 5:30 PM every night on the anthem last week. I think early seating was 515 but they said they would hold tables until 5:45 PM.
  21. Was on the Anthem last week. Glad we had traditional early seating. The line for MTD got LOOONG each evening. BTW, we found the food quality to be pretty much identical to all of our other sailings... except for the bao pork tacos that had some sort of nasty sauce on top that isn't typical. The duration for dinner was the same also. It was not any faster (which is fine with us). Typically 90-120 minutes total. The only issue we had was the first night when both my wife and FIL ordered the prime rib medium rare and it came out well done. This was clearly the waiters fault. It's obvious that the meat was overcooked versus our order and should not have been brought out. Grey versus red/pink. Fortunately the Maître D happened to ask if we were willing to move our table to another location to accommodate a large travelling group. After seeing our new table location, and wait staff, we happily obliged. From then on (night 2-7) it was stellar. Benni and Sunny are fantastic and made sure everything went awesome. Dan
