  1. Australia cyclone season The Australian cyclone season officially runs from November to April, although very few have occurred in November.
  2. Yes, I too am very fussy with my tea, water must be boiling. We are on Island Princess now and cabin steward actually asked us if we needed a kettle.

  4. That’s why they have one star painted on the tail😊

  6. The 50% cruise credit applies to the cruise fare only, not including port taxes and charges. The taxes on those fares are $186 each. Still coming out well in front though😊
  7. From Carnival Website. Masks NOT REQUIRED on board but RECOMMENDED in public areas for cruises 9 days or less. On board currently and estimate mask use <5%. VOYAGES 9 DAYS OR LESS Masks are not required on board during your cruise. However, masks will be required during the entire embarkation and debarkation process in the home port. Additionally, we recommend guests wear masks in public indoor spaces, outdoors when in large congregate events where physical distancing cannot be maintained and on water shuttles. VOYAGES 10 DAYS OR MORE Masks are required in public indoor spaces (unless eating and drinking or in your stateroom), outdoors when in large congregate events where physical distancing cannot be maintained, during the entire embarkation and debarkation process, when on buses or water shuttles (where applicable), and while indoors on any shore excursion.
  8. Carnival attempting to organise stop at Tangalooma for Friday. Letter with FCC and OBC to be delivered later this morning.
  9. Currently on Luminosa en route Lifou. Made a 180 degree turn 30-40 minutes ago. Captain just announced they are monitoring the Tropical Low in Coral Sea and working on options and will provide further details in morning. This may turn into a 7 day trip to nowhere. Doesn’t bother us, as we cruise for the ship first and destinations second.
  10. Checking multiple times per day online for offers has worked twice for us. You have to be quick though, these offers are not there for long.
  11. We just booked a balcony cabin on Feb 5th at that price with $500 OBC.
  12. Finally, a bit of common sense and a little win against the woke brigade. Can't say the same for Kmart though ☹️ Caught in the Southern Cross-fire P&O Cruises Australia has overturned a ban on the national flag on its short Australia Day cruises, after the issue was highlighted by New South Wales One Nation MP Mark Latham. The Daily Telegraph has reported that P&O Australia President Marguerite Fitzgerald stepped in to override the decision, which was set to ban both the national flag and the anthem on the upcoming cruises. While an internal memo granted an “Australia Day-themed cake” in food & beverage areas, it also said “no use of the Australia flag is permitted”. The memo stipulated no flags on cakes, no flag face-painting, no flag temporary tattoos, no flag towels, and no buntings. Fitzgerald told the newspaper the directive was “news to her”, and a “misunderstanding”, adding P&O had wanted to ensure everyone had a good time on the cruise and “feels included”. “The Australian, Aboriginal, and Torres Strait Islander flags and the national anthem will be all part of the program,” she said. P&O’s Australia Day cruises will see Pacific Explorer (pictured) call at White Bay on Thu, Pacific Adventure anchored in Sydney Harbour, and Pacific Encounter at Airlie Beach in Queensland, on her way to Indonesia. Australia Day controversy has also engulfed other players, including retailer Kmart, which last week decided not to sell any Australia Day merchandise.
  13. Same thing could be said for those pushing for a full blown coffee shop instead of the coffee van.
  14. Bringing Alcohol On Board - Embarkation Day Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages on board. On embarkation day, each guest may bring a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages on board and only in their carry-on luggage. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 cartons and/or cans, 600ml each or less.
  15. Had these on last couple of Luminosa cruises. Gee, I miss not being able to get a decent cuppa when cruising☹️
  16. You can buy internet before boarding, it is cheaper too.
  17. On our recent NZ cruise, the water was never "boiling", only very warm at best, not ideal for making a nice cuppa. Wondering whether it may be a WHS thing? Same in MDR, had to stress to waitstaff that we wanted "very hot" water with our tea order.
  18. Was on 11 day cruise to NZ on Carnival Luminosa recently and all pax did a RAT on second day, so not just Princess.
  19. Currently on Luminosa. No piano keys in sight in Piano Bar, except for on the ol’ goanna! Only 3rd day, very popular and nice decor.
