  1. I did think I'd finally settled with the return from Anchorage after some crazy options and ongoing emails to TA and SS. The flight has a 6 hour stopover in Seattle. I requested a latter departure from Alaska or earlier from Seattle. I was told it couldn't be done. In the roll call chat, the flight situation has been widely discussed. Strangely someone has just been given an earlier departure from Seattle at no extra cost which they said wasn't possible. This is not luxury 6* service.... its 2* its laziness and gives the impression its either incompetence,, lies or just can't be bothered. It just appears to be one thing after another.
  2. If that line was elasticated and pinged you back on the ship before you hit the freezing water, I think I'd give it a shot! 😁

    Excursions

Yes definitely book the excursion. You can cancel at a later date should something not be what you wanted with no obligation at this stage. I’ve made several changes on my next one without problems.

    Moon question

That reminds me of that day - a very hot day. Do you recall a passenger being very ill and disappearing with staff chasing after him (no doubt wanting to test! Coughs and sneezes is one thing………… He certainly didn’t look well.
  8. Remember it well….. from the balcony on day 1 of quarantine! Lol
  9. Ours just left little messages for the butler. Luckily the two pages we seemed to get mean those requests or simple messages weren’t very demanding!

    Excursions

Yes. In my.silversea. Click on the red “activities” button. The close the annoying poppup. At the top menu bar, you will see 3 small lines on the top right. Click that. That reveals the entire program. You can also just print the activities you’ve booked. But….. it seems its not working properly. On my android phone, the tour program is downloaded as a pdf. On IOS, (iPhone and iPad) it thinks about it but doesnt appear to do anything. I suspect a PC web browser would be fine.
  11. Or inconvenient flight times or impossible connections putting the arrival for your cruise at risk. There’s no doubt they can get it right. Not sure why its being challenged that’s always the case. My own plight for Japan and Alaska with poor flight details. Whilst eventually I did get a semi acceptable outcome with a 6 hour Seattle connection, it wasn’t ideal and to get to that stage often 10 weeks of trying, wasn’t impressive either.

    Price Drop

Not really trying to steer all onto the D2D prices eh! Have they actually stopped to think that if P2P are made too toxic to book and the D2D not palatable because its over priced and contains too many not wanted things, that SS will not gain new customers, they will lose many of their loyal fanbase?
  13. Good grief. We'd have just back back in getting ready to get to the bar before heading to Dinner for 8 to 8.30. Luckily the shows and entertainment are not a factor for me (I think Ive been to 2 shows on any SS sailing Ive done), but I'd not be impressed with that if I did.
  14. I'm guessing SS admin is not very well organised............. I win! 😅 OK thanks. I'm sure it was before then on our Moonie in January. I guess its not a priority to get updated and its not an issue, just a nice to know.
  15. Hehe..... Just seems a bit odd. For some they might want to dine in La Dame on the night (or avoid it).... so its not unreasonable to show it. Maybe it'll appear at T-120 when (if?) restaurant bookings can be made. I'm more thinking the next day and maybe needing a lay in! lol
  16. For my next SS (10 night) cruise which is now 137 away, I expected to see the black tie to shown in activities when formal nights are. Night 2 is a sea day, so Im confident that will be the first. Its the second I want to know. With only 17 days before restaurant bookings are open - but more importantly, excursions have been bookable for ages. That will possibly make a difference to an excursion booking the morning after. (ie not wanting an 8.30 excursion.) Is my.silversea just broken - or is that the new norm not to know or simply my cruise still undecided?

    Price Drop

But I know the real reason is you bagged 738.😅

    Price Drop

100% agree. As my dad used to say...... there are plenty more ships in the sea (or something like that!)
  19. When you're half cut, the blurred vision gets cancelled out! lol
  20. I guarantee it'll be better than your last departure! 🛳️ Look forward to finding out.
  21. Apologies. Change of phone. Still using both, but was in Venice last week so just hadn't looked. I need to properly migrate and get the job done! OK..... No replacement allocation yet and yes to the named TA, who I get 10% off through, but they've not exactly impressed on my next booking with them. Similar issue - change of consultant - but its also SS Air who are the antagonists by their "2 week email turnaround" which they seem to be sticking to. Our mutual friend did say he could push things if it was getting too bad. If you did want to use anyway, I will forward you the name to ask for even though she's left - and you should still get that discount, which is not to be sneezed at!
  22. I think we're more interested in how the waffles were! 😅
  23. Did they mean to put that chipolata in with the ice cream? 😁

    Excursions

You used to have to wait until 180 days before being able to book, but now its open from day 1 of your booking. They do "sell out" so make it a priority if you book o look at them. Interestingly, one of my choices was waitlisted, so I "booked" that and chose another. This morning, I see I'm no longer waitlisted and my "sunset catamaran cruise" in Aruba is all mine and the Jeep safari no longer required and released. So basically suggesting you keep checking and do "waitlist" if you fancy it. Whilst they are with no charge, as mentioned you only get one per port. No charge for more than one until 2 days before the excursion date, so you have time to remove and avoid any charges if you do before then. They are a mixed bag. Some I think are quite good, some are a bit meh and the "price tag" not the real value if you were paying IMHO. Looking at the Alaska excursions on my one next May, I see one port has a shuttle bus (listed several times) one not to miss - particularly as the only free one! Looking forward to the train ride from Seward to Anchorage though!
