  1. Maybe it's typically English. I've tried a few different English dishes over the years and wasn't at all impressed.(especially desserts)
  2. Isn't that the purpose of having a discussion? To inform people of actual facts, not what's printed in any literature or other hearsay.
  3. Have you even noticed at the butter they serve at the buffet is much better that the stuff in the DR's. We complained & asked for the waiter for "butter" & were told they just don't have it there, so we started to bring butter from the buffet each evening. The blend they serve in the DR is just plain tasteless and awful.
  4. That's the one big item that turned us off the CB. Limitations on buffet items and at the time they were presented in small cardboard containers, which may have now been changed. Many items were served cool or even cold when they should have been heated up. Even after we complained about it to the head waiter they repeated the same mistake the next day ! Again this was a while ago and may have been corrected by now but after sailing many Royal class ships I can't honestly say we've experienced the same situation.
  5. For us that cruise quite often they do seem to be quite old in a very short time. We've skipped them many times and prefer to see guest entertainers when at all possible. Hopefully the new ships will provide some fresh shown to pique our interest.
  6. Yes, that is the correct term but from what I've observed on what they call "Formal evenings" in the DR just about anything goes on any night, so why differentiate with a simple term.
  7. Yes, but for a charge. 😒
  8. Considering all the newest charges that Princess has instated recently, I believe your prediction is about to become reality. 😪
  9. Havin sailed on the CB as well as all the other similarly class ships, I would definitely say choose another of Princess's ships. The layout (especially the buffet area & food prep) leaves a lot to be improved upon. The Royal class ships have taken that into account and made changes accordingly.
  10. That's very unusual. Someone must have disturbed a nest.
  11. No one would so much as blink an eye. You would me surprised how many guys no longer dress up on formal nights in the DR and at the same time they'll be people in tuxes, suit jackets, and everything in between with the occasional people in shorts. My husband wore his black jeans & a T shirt for Christmas and New Years eve dinners although I will say that many people were dressed up those nights.
  12. I just told my husband about it & he said that they were charging for seats on Deck 17 during the New Years eve celebration. He wasn't sure if the price but he did say that lots of folks were moving downstairs since it was to windy. Another couple tried to go up there to watch the activities but were told to leave.
  13. I can almost understand reserving seats in the show lounge but on deck for MUTS is totally getting out of hand. First come, first seated.
  14. Somethin tells me that I'll never know unless someone explains it to me.
  15. Why change into anything other than what you wear on a casual night? Nothing more is now required.
  16. For some reason the people on Christmas & New Years cruises feel they have a lot to get out of their system - so much more so than a normal cruise.
  17. You're not serious, are you.
  18. So they shamed you into eating elsewhere? That's to bad, missing out on one of the better meals offered just to avoid formal nights when it's not at all necessary to dress up any longer. But you already knew that.
  19. Either the lunch or dinner would be acceptable. Maybe dinner would be a better option unless you have some questions for the officer at the table. Although on second thought you wouldn't get a photo with the Capt.
  20. In Hawaii we took the tour to the summit of Haleakala and froze our tails off only wearing sweatshirts. At least we can say we did it.🥶 We also walked the trail to the very top.
  21. The enchanted has a similar situation and it's also very windy on sea days. So much so that the water was being tossed out of the pool in waves every few minutes last cruise in Dec.
