  1. We never had any wait since we eat early but I assume that if you choose to eat at the busiest times, the people with reservation will be seated before those without.
  2. In the Caribbean I could stream/download movies from Netflix most of the time without any problem. YouTube also worked well, but programs from my provider (Xifinity/Comcast) always seemed to be very slow. It could take up to 2 or 3 hours to download a 1 hour program.
  3. I wouldn't spend that amount of money, but if I did, the 360 dinner might be a better option if the ship offered it.
  4. Also, don't choose seats near the door leading to the seating area by the MUTS screen. People will be constantly passing by during the game. We staked out our seats early one year & took turns getting something to eat at the buffet while one of us would hold the chairs. Just leaving something on a chair will not hold it for very long. 😄
  5. The only problem with your logic is that the Plus package must be purchased for both adults in the cabin, bringing it to $120 per day.
  6. That's the way it was many years ago, so I guess nothing has changed much. We received an invitation to a Specialty restaurant at the time.
  7. They still have it for 7 day trips & longer but I think I've read that they've stopped it for shorter cruises. (I can't confirm it)
  8. It is sad that even with 60 Princess cruises, it doesn't mean a lot to them lately. The benefits of being loyal to the cruise line seem to be disappearing each month. The latest being priority entry into the terminals. Other than free laundry, there's not much else to be happy about. Oh yes, having a black medallion is special with a 10 % discount on certain items. 😁
  9. Fooled you twice I see. After the last update I'll wait until they force me to do it. I've got enough aggravation in my life without dealing with their updates before a cruise. Good luck.
  10. We were also on that trip also. Yes it was crowded, but we still managed to get seats during the day after lunch but it was usually in the shade where lots of folks don't really want to sit. Many times we just went to the Wake View pool to escape the masses of people. We'll be sailing later in the year from now on... after the holiday rush is over. It was just to crowded with large families with kids for us.
  11. Yea, sure. 😄 Let us know if you manage it somehow. I'll bet they have a better swimming area, without all the rocks.
  12. Doing it once wasn't enough for us but the second one did it. Never again.
  13. What about the Wake View pool on deck 16? I thought it was also for adults only.
  14. reedprincess has outline the activities at Christmas fairly well. After having done a couple of Christmas/New Years trips we've decided not to do any more. It attracts large families as well as many children and is quite different from a typical cruise. We found the ship to be overly packed with people whereas a typical cruise doesn't. From now on we'll go a week before the Christmas season trip since all the decorations will be in place anyway without the children's activities as a highlight of the trip.
  15. If it's anything similar to the other Princess ships, they'll have attendants on those evenings directing you to those reserved seats. The seats will be reserved with covers on them specifically for reserved seating and you'll be scanned in using you Medallion.
  16. A long, long while. It's a good thing they had some guest entertainers on the ship, otherwise we wouldn't have had anything to do at night except trivia. 😉
  17. Sounds just like the Enchanted.
  18. I pride myself in keeping my final bill under the $10 mark.
  19. I think most of the cruisers who remember the old Island Princess feel the same way. There's just no reason to return any longer.
  20. It's even better when they refund the port charges. 😁
  21. If you trade in the Medallion for a cruise card, that also works for any purchase. Except that you'll have to remove the card from your pocket & hold it next to the monitor to unlock the door each time. It's not very convenient if your hands are full.
  22. Jan is usually to cold for us as we live in Florida, so why bother. I've never been pestered by wasps or bees but the last time we were there you couldn't even enjoy lunch because of the flies. Literally dozens of them swarming over each table landing on your food. It's just not worth the stop there any more for us. We just enjoy a quiet day on the ship and last trip we skipped the stop altogether because of the weather & got reimbursed port charges of $33.68 per person which paid for a nice dinner in a Specialty restaurant. I wish they would skip it more often. 😄😉
  23. I wouldn't say it's overdone. It's presented to the people an if you want to participate, then do so, but there's no obligation to get involved in anything like dressing up, having photo's taken or dancing. The only thing different for us is that there's usually a better menu selection and a production show presented that night.
