They are a great bunch of guys..and a few "gals" as well. Kenneth was in the US Navy for 5 years and served part of that time on the FDR carrier. His rank was "Quarter Master 2" and he was at the helm..sailed her under the Golden Gate Bridge once..a real thrill for him!!

Did you book this in advance?..or just try and find someone on the day of travel? Thanks?

I think Petco Park was recently voted one of ..if not the top baseball park in the US. And yes...not that far away from the Midway. And thank you for your comment about Kenneth.

It is an incredibly beautiful place..and the views to the east towards the city and mountains are fabulous on a clear day. My DH Kenneth, who passed away last year, was a Docent on the USS Midway. It's considered the #1 tourist destination in SD by Trip Advisor and you can really spend the entire day there...if you want. I hope you enjoy your stay in SD...and you're so right..there is a lot to see and do!!

It's not really very far from the port to Ft Rosecrans. Maybe you could have someone drop you off and then request a ride back on a taxi app or call them ? Most of the older memorials are all in one place..on the oldest side of the cemetery facing SD Bay and if you want to visit a specific grave site there is a map in the visitor's center. I'm not sure but they might have a golf cart or something like that to get you to the spot. I think you can contact them directly if questions.

What a special memory and treasure!!

I'm in a similar position. My sailing is the middle of May, I have a solo booking. The only categories sold out are the top suites. It's part of the current sale but my TA has called 2X and O has said no to reducing the rate, giving me OBC and/or giving me a higher category.

It sounded this AM on the local news like it's going to be a long closure!! There are no plans to even meet to decide what to do for 3 weeks. I was thinking about taking the train up for a 5/20 sailing but I'm going to look for another way to get there.

oceanpark..Those are the 2 items I enjoy as well!!! Twins?? 🙂 "Tazo" makes a Chai Tea Latte Black Tea Concentrate that comes in a box. I find it in the tea aisle at my local grocery store. I'm planning on bringing a box with me just in case. I've been told that this is what is used at Starbucks and it tastes pretty similar to me. My TA confirmed that there usually is Clamato on board.

I spent yesterday afternoon reading about all the restaurants on Vista. Will be on board in October. If i do nothing else but eat the entire cruise it will be fabulous!! 🙂 So many yummy items!!

We were in Malaga right before Easter a number of years ago and just stumbled upon the warehouse where they were storing all the floats for the parade. They let us in to look at them..so special!!!
