  1. We miss hearing from you guys! Lots more cruising ahead for you, even if no world cruise in the near future.
  2. UUNetbill: Why don't you take two aspirin and call me in the morning!!
  3. Which Regent World Cruise have you booked? We are booked on the 2024 and can't wait even though it is 1 1/2 years away. What we like so much about Regent is that we can begin booking our shore excursions 365 days ahead. This makes the cruise seem real 12 months earlier. Norma and Mitch
  4. Eroller: We sailed the Splendor in Europe last fall and there were few shore excursions to choose from. This was augmented by our missing several ports because of country-related Covid issues. Covid has put a real monkey wrench into cruise lines such as Regent planning unique shore excursions. They contract the tours months ahead of time, and months ago Covid was still causing lock downs. All of our pre-Covid cruises in Europe have been wonderful including really interesting excursions. Next summer we are doing the Great Arctic Adventure when we will travel through Europe for 78 days. Our only complaint with the excursions has been that Regent still is not providing an excursion to the Edinburgh Tattoo. A small problem since we can get our own tickets ahead of time. Glad you enjoyed your first Regent cruise and hope that it was the first of many.
  5. Buy them today on Amazon and return the other ones.
  6. They possibly will be in the Passages. Or you could find out from your butler, if you have one, or from the maitre d' in Compass Rose. If you are interested just ask around, there are lots of people who know about them. The wine lunches and dinners are wonderful. Because you are on a transatlantic there will be several of them. Also I would recommend hiring a car and driver for the day through the Regent shore excursion apps. It is a comfortable way to see Rio, in particular, and you can see a lot more than you will see on a group tour. The guide is there for you.
  7. You are correct. I ought to read more than the first paragraph! MIAMI, July 06, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NCLH) (the “Company”) today announced it will no longer require guests to complete pre-cruise COVID-19 testing unless required by local regulations. This policy will go into effect across Norwegian Cruise Line (NCLH), Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises beginning August 1, 2022. The pre-embarkation testing requirement will remain in place for guests currently traveling on voyages departing from destinations with local testing regulations, including but not limited to the U.S., Canada, Greece and Bermuda. The relaxation of the testing policy is in line with the rest of the travel, leisure and hospitality industry worldwide as society continues to adapt and return to a state of normalcy. The Company continues to strongly recommend all guests be up to date on vaccination protocols and test at their convenience prior to travel.
  8. NCLH announced this morning that as of August 1, 2022 it will no longer require a negative pre-cruise Covid test. This is true for all three of its cruise lines. Hurray!!
  9. Several days ago we got a brochure with the itineraries but no prices. The ones we received were the usual suspects Arctic on Navigator, Arctic on Splendor, Tokyo to Singapore (I think), Spice Route, and 2025 world cruise. Didn't look like any new itineraries.
  10. Did I read the information correctly that cruises on Silversea are now eligible for the RCLH shareholder benefit? This was not the case in the past but would be a nice benefit.
  11. Your pictures are great! They bring back wonderful memories of being on Explorer and Splendor, as well as Navigator, Mariner, and Voyager. We found the food on Regent to far exceed the food on Oceania. But that is just our opinion.
  12. Any time we have cruised on Regent and docked in "London" we have docked in Southhampton. There are lots of means of getting to London from Southhampton. Also there are a variety of ships near the dock.
  13. So glad you and George are doing better. Covid has become so transmissible and, for most vaccinated people, so mild it will be hard to prevent and difficult to track. If one is afraid of contracting Covid, you just need to stay home. My DH and I love to travel so much that we are willing to take the risk. Life is too short.
  14. Mask compliance on board has changed a great deal from last fall to now. When we were on the Splendor last November everyone wore masks in public until we got into the Atlantic. Even then, most people stayed masked around large groups. By March, mask wearing was the exception, rather than the rule, on the Mariner. The crew still wore masks more or less all of the time. Are the crew still required to wear masks now? I haven't heard. Thanks, Norma
  15. I am picking out shore excursions. It seems like there are more ports than I had for the 2022 WC itineraries 1 and 2. At least, the website has improved since the last time I did it. Norma and Mitch
  16. The Navigator is doing the same itinerary right now, with the addition of the transatlantic, and there doesn't seem to be any hint of cancellation. I may have on rose-colored glasses, but I believe things will be better in 2023 than they are in 2022, so our baltic voyage is pretty safe. Norma
  17. So glad you are double negative!! Have a wonderful dinner. Hope you get to Guernsey. I agree about The Guernsey Literary And Potato Peel Pie Society. I loved reading it too. Norma
  18. I am so happy for you that you received a negative test. As good as the food and service are on Regent it is not the same as going ashore. Hope the rest of your travels are uneventful and you will be able to enjoy a full cruise soon.
  19. We are on the Arctic Grand Voyage next summer. Regent contacted us several months ago to say that the ship (Navigator) will not port in St. Petersburg and that they adjusted the itinerary accordingly. No information since then. Norma
  20. We were on the Splendor in November and the Mariner in March. In both cases the facial recognition system was used. Its obvious advantage is that it allowed quick embarkation and disembarkation. In addition, when I asked the question directly to a senior officer, I was informed that yes it also was used to take passengers' temperatures. This was the same or similar system that had been used in our health club for months. Although I never saw anyone put in quarantine after they had an above 100 degree fever, I suspect that information was combined with a Covid test to determine if quarantine was warranted. We had no problem with Regent obtaining the information and it made our transiting the gang plank that much faster.
  21. I so hope you recover promptly and your husband stays negative. Our experience with Regent since covid has been that they go out of their way to make quarantine as easy as possible. The only glitch was that people had to quarantine for 10 days even if they felt better and tested negative sooner. Is this still the case?
  22. Thanks for that information. I will recalculate.
  23. We are on the Dec. 18th Miami to Rio cruise on Marina. Given the cost of private shore excursions, I booked all of our excursions through Oceania using their unlimited pricing. It is much less expensive.
  24. Have a wonderful cruise. Enjoy Israel and the rest of the Med.
