We have been to Bermuda several times on cruises and land vacations. I agree, Horseshoe Bay Beach is very touristy. We enjoy taking the local bus (get a day pass for bus or ferry at building on cruise dock) and you can go to any beach. We have found many nice private spots near Horseshoe to be very nice and have some great memories on this island. If you definitely want to go to Horseshoe Beach then take bus #7 from the royal navy dockyard to the beach. We love their bus system. taxi's are very expensive on the island so we avoid using them.

Boardwalk vs Central Park
Sunshine3601 replied to lulabelle's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Depending on location of your balcony you may be able to see aqua shows and some ocean. But Oasis has the purple slide that blocks the view for most. -
Glorious day at LBI. Little bits of clouds and bit windy on the beach, but no sign of greenhead flies this morning. My Brother and his wife should be here by noon. They said there is a lot of traffic with it being Father's Day weekend, schools done and a 3 day holiday weekend for some. If traveling anywhere this weekend, be safe and enjoyπ

Coco Cay? Is anything Free to do there?
Sunshine3601 replied to Luv2Cruiise's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Heck I used to get beach club passes for under $50 in 2020. All my future sailings now have for $180 or higher. -

Yes, we saw iguanas hanging out where the rocks when we were there in April. -

I highly recommend snack shack for lunch - great funnel cakes, chicken parm sandwiches, etc all included in your cruise fare. You can ride the tram (free) and get a feel of the island. Lots to do and see for free. -
Boardwalk vs Central Park
Sunshine3601 replied to lulabelle's topic in Royal Caribbean International
For a $1000+/- savings I would go to Central Park. I look at this way, most people don't spend a lot of time in their cabins and that $1000+/- can be spent on many other things. -
Debarkation unvacinnated child testing
Sunshine3601 replied to Love2cruisewkids's topic in Royal Caribbean International
If you are talking about the test done the last full day before end of cruise. then the child and one minor may be sent to the quarantine ward or they may let you all stay in the cabin. I have heard done both ways lately. If you are talking about the test before the cruise, as Renee said then you will not be allowed to board the ship and will be refunded your money. -
Yes, he does love when we give him stuff from our garden. And I will bake him a nice peach pie from our homegrown peaches. He lost his wife last year to covid and he is constantly looking for stuff to stay busy. He helps many neighbors with various projects. So he will mow the lawn while my other neighbor cat sits and waters the flowers. We have the best neighbors π€©(except for the one jerk to the right of us and the reason we got a fence).

I just replied to Luckynana about the flies. When we went back after lunch around 2:30ish and sat down within minutes our legs were covered in flies. land breezes are the worst. When I realized I didn't have my skin so soft spray (does help) and we didn't feel like moving our chairs to the water since it was so cold we called it quits and came back to the house by 3:30. Weather should be beautiful this weekend, I will have to look and see which direction wind is coming from, hopefully not the west Have fun at the Hot Air Balloon Glow - that looks like fun!

My neighbor across the street from me said he will mow our lawn while we are away - said he works for Fudge. It was very warm down the shore. On the beach there was a nice ocean breeze early on then when we back after some lunch/snack we were attacked by green head flies as there was now a warm land breeze. I usually have some skin so soft but didn't have in my bag since it was so nice earlier in the day. Putting that in my beach bag tonight incase that happens again. Life problems at the beachπ
