  1. They still have Basic . The new rules indicate that you an not purchase Basic as a stand alone purchase but you can still upgrade to Premium if you already have Basic or have it as a perk. If you purchase the all inclusive for below AQ it is my understanding that you will receive the Basic Package and then can upgrade it to Premium. I'm sure if I'm incorrect someone will correct me. If you already have Basic you will keep it and can upgrade. For your husband if he upgraded already he will receive a refund of part of the Upgrade charge in line with the new upgrade pricing.
  2. My understanding of the new Deposit is the Deposit is 10% of the cruise fare or the Standard Deposit (whichever is higher). It would make sense that if cruise prices are raising you might notice that the deposits are raising of over the standard deposit level.
  3. My experience has been that if you wish a wine that is not on the Luminae Wine menu and available at another bar, the Sommelier will try to locate it for you. He may not be able to do this the first night but I have had them get it and have it on hand for me for the remainder of the cruise. Same for the Retreat Bar.
  4. None of us are aware of the Logarithm that is used by PlusGrade. They strive to maximize the revenue from upgrades. While I don't know more than others, from personal experience I would think that current booking has a bearing on the winning bid. Remember that each upgrade then sets off a chain of upgrades to fill the cabins that were opened up due to an upgrade. There are also Bonus uplifts of bids according to CC Status. Recently I bid maximum on an upgrade from a CS to a Villa and did not get it but the person (who I knew in a RS) was upgraded to a Villa at less than full bid price and I won the RS they vacated at less than a Max bid (and less than my Villa Bid).
  5. I would check again - the agent doesn't appear to be knowledgeable On the FAQ is specifically addresses it with this question. Does the upgrade include any additional promotions? The upgrade does not include any additional promotions. However, you get to keep whichever promotions you already have.
  6. I've seen them go down and went in and adjusted my bid accordingly.
  7. While I have never purchased this before I did some googling and found some intersting information. Also Cost seems high at 11.15% of Trip cost for the Any Reason that doesn't seem to cover all Reasons. Unfortunately, Celebrity’s list of cancellation reasons lacks some important coverages. We recommend policies that also include: Default or bankruptcy of the common carrier or travel supplier Cancel For Work Reason (traveler required to work during the trip) Employer-initiated transfer of 250 miles or more Destination uninhabitable or unreachable by fire, flood or natural disaster Mechanical breakdown of a common carrier Traveler involved in accident en-route to departure Mandatory evacuation Hurricanes Documented theft of passports or visas Jury duty, or subpoena. Celebrity CruiseCare Travel Protection will provide a full refund if you have to cancel for a covered reason, but their Cancel For Any Reason policy only provides a 90% refund in the form of a future cruise credit. Also, their protection plans do not cover any travel arrangements booked outside of your cruise.
  8. This should not affect the price match re-pricing. I just repriced one this week.
  9. If I recall it was Pork Belly served on a bed of White Beans. I'm not a big fan of Pork Belly so passed.
  10. Your experience may be different but on my last Apex cruise of about 40 days they were in the range of 95%+ accurate. Only on one occasion did they have the wrong menu for the day. On out 3rd cruise they had to pull the Daniel B's Chicken dish as they had not received it. It was removed on both the App and Printed Menus'
  11. Your not alone. We often book the day a cruise is released. Our furthest out booking is currently a B2B on Equinox November - December 2024. By booking early was able to get the same cabin for both cruises. Also the prices have already jumped quite a bit in price.
  12. Thanks for posting. Really enjoying your verbiage and of course your wonderful pictures.
  13. Generally the ability to enter Credit Card is only available in the App once on-line CheckIn begins. The app will give you the exact date. Having said that I find that at least in my case my Credit Card is stored (possibly from the reservation). When I go to purchase anything - excursions, dining etc it is always there and have accidentally not put in the amount to be used from OBC and had it charge my credit card. I then have to go back and cancel and rebook correctly. After you select an Item to purchase or book go to Check Out Basket - At the very bottom - it shows my CC and asks for the CVV (since I haven't used it on this sailing). It also has a spot to delete or change the credit card number.
  14. I'm also a sparkling water drinker. While I always have a premium package I often order Club Soda, which is available under the Basic Package.
  15. As others have said the App is your go to place. Select a ship and choose the current sailing and then choose your dining room. The menus are listed by day and meal. I have only traveled in Suites but can tell you the Suites Menus are mostly unchanged from pre-Covid and I was definitely not disappointed with the OVC. Instead of cancelling a cruise based on a few that are verbal and tear down everything, I would take your cruise and compare for yourself. I have a feeling you will find more things the same than different.
  16. Library is very limited on M and S class and almost non-existent on an E-Class. Recently when I looked it was almost just books previous guests had left behind.
  17. You may wish to wait and find out what path the hurricane may take. Right now the spaghetti models are all over the place. I am not sure the exact cruise your taking. The captains are really good at choose a route to minimize discomfort and I've been on many cruises where the captain either drops a port or chooses a different port to avoid a storm. Most models are predicting the route will be south of Cuba. Another good resource is on Twitter - RCL Meteorologist James Van Fleet starts posting when when ships are rerouted.
  18. Thanks for your wonderful review. It will take me a couple days to read it all. You have a wonderful writing style and your pictures are spectacular.
  19. According to the App on Apex Current Sailing - They have Late Nite Dining - I'm sure it's limited between 10:00 PM to 1:00 AM. I know when I was last on Apex they ad Pizza, Pasta and a couple other things available. Maybe someone on board can advise what they have for late nite dining.
  20. There is no hard fact as to when a Guarantee Cabin will be assigned. I read that one person recently had theirs assigned the day after they booked. I have had the experience of not having a cabin assigned until I was at the port. Ya never know. That's why the cheaper price.
  21. May be from the Australia Site but the phone numbers and links are for all departures world wide. I've used it myself from the U.S. You can also call 800-533-7803 (Option 4)
  22. Yes... if you read the flyer there is a per day charge to update to Premium.
  23. My experience has been that in many ports that require Entry Visa's Celebrity applies for the Visa for you. If they don't they send an announcement and have a portal on the Internet Cafe with an open connection to apply. This is however not the case for India. I'm planning on waiting until on the ship and then if necessary apply for it prior to arrival. I'm presuming since there is a $35 fee that the guest will either have to apply for it or will be charged for in on their On Board Account.
  24. Curious what that matters. No Visa is required for the UK and Scotland is part of the UK.
