there are a couple of bad cabins over Torshaven...speaking from experience...if you want to go to bed before midnight, want to sleep in, or take a nap during the day. It was assigned as a GTY cabin the other two couples assigned cabins were fine.

Agree...we were so disappointed last winter when Falkland Island were not on the South America Cruise!

Sure was nice onboard this past winter when the ship was about 1/2 capacity!!! We ate regularly at the Chef's Table and Manfredi's, had window seats in the main dining room and could could always get a table for breakfast in Mamsen's. You could walk in the theatre at show time and get a good seat and the few times we tendered we walked on! Great seats at the bar or the windows in Explorer's Lounge were almost always available.

Although we did not do the Mekong with Viking this trip was one of our favorites. Make sure it includes Siem Reap and Halong Bay!

We did the Irrawaddy River with Vantage and it was an amazing adventure. We know how lucky we were to be able to experience the wonderful country and its people before it became unsafe for tourism.

try hendricks's with mulled cucumber instead of "twist'....if you are home look for Fever Tree Tonic Elderflower (no twist or cucumber) or cucumber for a different tasting cocktail...Hendricks is my gin of choice!!!

I am so disappointed to hear this about Vantage. Really want to take the trip to Croatia but I certainly would probably only book a few weeks out to be sure it was a GO! I wonder if the new ship is sailing at all? Anyone been onboard. Linda 47 please report back after you do the Great Lakes. Is it scheduled on the new ship?

We are doing an Antarctic Expedition this winter. I will not be dressing for dinner like I usually do on Ocean Cruises. There just will NOT be room in the luggage! Black slacks and a couple of warm tops probably NO jewelry, one pair of ballet flats. I imagine my husband will take one pair of slacks and long sleeved polos, perhaps a button down shirt and he will NOT be wearing a ball cap ( one of biggest peeves in any of eating venues.) But I am not sure why jeans are easier than a pair of slacks to wear in the dining room. Plus jeans take so long to dry!

I always take a sweater...my husband NEVER does! and I do take one to the Main Dining Room because it depends on WHERE you are seated and how crowded it is.

with the amount of lost luggage lately...maybe Viking should have a "shopping" room stocked with things passengers left on ship! HAHA on our last cruise Viking's laundry did the daily wash for a couple who had lost luggage.

I would like eating in WC if all things were served! I have seen too many passengers doing silly things in the lines!! The omlet station works for me at breakfast and for lunch I gan get a Caesar Salad or soup and grilled shrimp handed to me. Otherwise I wash my hands AGAIN before I eat after touching serving spoons! But often times I still feel like it is a Jack in Box experience up/down so many times and triple that when trying to eat with others....and getting a wine other than "included" is difficult...I usually go to the aquavit bar myself to order! The wait staff tries hard but they are very busy....and do they put new placemats down or just wipe them off? and I am always loosing silverware!!!

It is a beautiful cruise!
