  1. Hmmm. I’m clearly going to have to find that cold pea soup… Thanks for the tips @Clay Clayton … I’d never have tried the sugar free gelato!
  2. That’s why I suggested taking it with a grain of salt. 🙂
  3. Seen on Facebook. Take it with a grain of salt for now.
  4. Everyone's taste differs! So drink what you like, not what people tell you to like! 😉
  5. I plan on asking for a taste of both the regular and the premium. I’ve got the Silver Spirits Drink Package and plan on enjoying it! I mean by trying new things… not getting smashed and sleeping through the next port. 🙂
  6. I would call them back and tell them to you want them to ticket your flights. If they can't call back and speak to someone else. It's not uncommon to get different answers from different agents apparently. Lots of new trainees these post COVID days.
  7. Hey @Jim Avery... I found a spa in Iceland I think you need to visit: Welcome to the Beer Spa! https://www.bjorbodin.is/eng
  8. I’ve enjoyed both the posts and the blogs. Sometimes I lost track of a blog address so it was nice to be able to find them here. I’d rather a blogger just post the link to their blog whenever they post than post a long Cruise Critic Board post each day. Folks who want to click will click, and others will scroll on. I was reading 3 blogs each night and enjoyed them all!
  9. That is cool... and I too hope to never see one deployed IRL. 🍻
  10. We have Myvatin and Blue Lagoon on the schedule for this summer. (Blue Lagoon on the way to the airport sounds better than more hours at the airport.) You should have gone in the snow! I've been in hot tubs in the snow and it's lovely! Ah well... next time!
  11. Now there's a new spa in Akureyri! https://www.ruv.is/frett/2022/05/27/new-geothermal-spa-in-akureyri?fbclid=IwAR1fMV1nsn6BnzMo2VfOvOIwpHz2D6_dVI8tTsgarSXOmELMUxV--tNx34k
  12. This is an interesting discussion, and I've often had wonderings much the same as the poster. I confess it is difficult sometimes to not discuss "politcal" positions because so much of life and current events center on that now. And yes I'll bet the necessity of vaccines and masks on Viking might make avoiding the politics around that a little trickier. Thankfully rules are rules and what the captain says is law onboard a ship. I found it interesting that on the World Cruise in 2017 a group of women on the cruise organized their own version of a Women's March around the promenade deck.
  13. I suspect it may have been down for maintenace. Since ALL the excursions for my cruise seem to be posted now!
  14. Drinking a fancy coffee and watching the scenery go by while reading this book about witch trials in Norway that predate Salem! Looking forward to Norway in July!
  15. Munch Moments is an event often listed in the Daily Program on VIking Ships. Music is played and the works of Edvard Much are featured on the large screen on the wall going behind the staricase in the atrium. I found a short but interesting YouTube video on the life and art of Edvard Munch.
  16. He has previously posted more positive reviews of Viking. There are as noted in other post some outright mistakes in this one. With the title he gave it... I considered it click bait. And since we all clicked... it worked. 🤷‍♀️
  17. You're welcome! I hope this helps others. That's why I posted it. I've recieved so much useful information on this sight it is nice to give back.
  18. Was reading something recently and heard that the Oslo train station next to the Thon Opera Hotel has some excellent dining options and is beautiful inside! Can anyone verify?
  19. We like to travel with a night light for the loo... so we don't have to turn on the bright lights at night.
  20. Some of us on the July 6 sailing for Iceland's Majestic Landscapes noticed that the included excursion, "Panoramic Reykjavik" was not showing up at all in the Excursion list on our online " My Viking Journey" pages. Someone used the chat feature to reach out to Viking and got a PDF of all the excursion for our sailing and there were quite a few missing! Most of the missing ones were for Reykjavik. Also, an excursion was noticed to be missing from Seydisfjördur. If you are sailing with Viking this summer you might want to ask for them to email you the PDF of all available excursions for your trip. Then compare them to what you can see online. If there is one that is on the PDF, but not online, you should be able to book it by contacting Viking by phone or by using the chat feature. Chat feature bonus... you don't have to listen to that hold music! (We booked this cruise in 2018 and after almost 4 years I'm a little tired of that song!) Also... be aware that if you call to sign up for a "hidden excursion" to cancel it you have to call (or chat) Viking directly because you can not access it online. It does, however, show up on your calendar. (Now that I'm thinking... maybe you could cancel it from there. I don't know for sure.) I am attaching a PDF that was current the morning on May 13 for the July 6 sailing of Iceland's Majestic Landscapes. So you know what one looks like. You should get a current version for your sailing. Hope this helps other sailors! All shall be well. All shall be well. All manner of things shall be well. ~ Julian of Norwich MAY13_ShoreExcursions.pdf
  21. Every night before bed I read this thread and 3 Blogs on the WC. So now what will sustain my wanderlust? Sigh....
  22. I know Jupiter does. I don’t know the URL. But if you can find the URL for one of the other ships it’s just a matter of changing the ship name.
